    The US populace was unwilling to commit to the long term nation building for Iraq and it proved to be a failure on Afghanistan. Since then a fair amount of public sentiment has turned more isolationists.

    Israel still remains a special case and it’s a political fact that support for Israel still remains strong. No presidential candidate with any hope of succeeding will run on ending support for Israel. That might change in the future but it won’t this election.

    Note this isn’t a personal endorsement of Israel’s action but stating what is a political reality.
