Harris is smart to push the joy and hope for America angle. The idea is that it will bring out voters. They need more people to vote. It is why they are working hard to get voting groups that frequently don't vote to register and turn out. Democrats win the popular vote. The more voters the better. Republicans with their message of anger and claiming is America is terrible isn't an effort to win new voters as much as it's an effort to convince barely interested voters that both sides are bad and that it isn't worth voting at all. They also know, Democrats will win the popular vote.
It is two polar opposite approaches; one caters to hate and division with a racist leader and one who looks to turn the page and move on. The sad part is the racist bigot takes up so much oxygen in the room and the lies are evident every single day people don't know what to believe. trump is a master manipulator as we have seen, he is now the gop and maga are his converts. The ONLY way to beat him is to get out and VOTE, we need a record turnout to defeat these bigots who go in front of America every day and lie. Harris and company need to spend those last 2 weeks busting there ass, we have such short attention spans that the last few weeks will be critical...............just wait for the BS that trump starts spewing over the last month, we will think Haitians eating your dog is just child play, the lies will be biggly
It is almost October Surprise season! In 2020, we had: (1) Sep 27: NYT article on leaked Trump tax returns; (2) Oct 13: a failed effort to discredit Russiagate by finding some wrongdoing by Obama Admin was closed by Barr (oh well); (3) Oct 14: NYP reports on the Hunter laptop. In 2016, we had: (a) Oct 7: Access Hollywood tape; (b) also Oct 7: leaked John Podesta emails; (c) also Oct 7: US accuses Russia of trying to interfere with the election; (d) Oct 28: James Comey tells Congress he was re-opening investigation into Clinton's email server. With the probable exception of James Comey, these were all attempts by campaigns or interested parties to swing the election. I fully expect to see efforts on both sides before mid-October. I guess we already got Tenet Media and the Admin's decision to indict. But what else?
Wow Harris went up 1 simulator point since you posted yesterday. Can't wait for tomorrows update. And don't throw me in some sort of MAGA blanket statement on your response. I swear I wish I had all the disposable time to hammer out posts on a sports board as so many here do. You guys know you are not freelancers getting paid by the post, right?
I expect more leaks about Dementia Don getting heavily involved in the Crytocurrency space; his next con post-defeat
Let's look at one issue and look at both candidates. Press interviews - Kamala Harris: She does very few of them. We want our candidates to have to answer questions about their policies and plans. Donald Trump: Will interview almost anytime with anyone. However, his interviews are rambling lies and off topic delusions. Despite his many interviews we've learned nothing about his policies and plans. We have learned a lot about who he is as a person and what kind of leader he would be Harris has told us more about her plans and policies in far fewer interviews. Final analysis on interviews: - Rambling on about one's insecurities and spouting and endless stream of lies and borderline hysterical rants isn't really an advantage over giving fewer interviews.
2024 brings back fake electors for Donald Trump, even some facing charges for 2020 Fourteen so-called fake electors who participated in former President Donald Trump’s 2020 scheme to throw the election results into chaos will once again serve as electors for Trump in 2024, including several who currently face criminal charges. The Michigan Republican Party has renominated the most fake electors. Six names that appeared on a certificate falsely claiming that Trump had won the state are on the 2024 list of 15 electors provided by the Michigan Secretary of State's office. Pennsylvania Republicans submitted a list of presidential electors to the secretary of state’s office with five former fake electors: The Nevada Republican Party renominated Michael McDonald, the chair of the state party, and Jesse Law, chairman of the Republican party of Clark County, both of whom signed the 2020 certificate although Trump lost the state by 154,000 votes. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news.../20/fake-electors-for-trump-2024/74955704007/
Again this is a very unusual year so I’m not going to rule out an October surprise but I don’t think the Biden administration will do anything like that. Harris is running a very disciplined campaign and trying to reduce the potential for surprises. I think she and Biden are on the page to continue what they are doing and not try to surprise the voters. the Trump campaign will try all it can to surprise but given that they say something controversial every rally it likely won’t have much effect. If there is an October surprise it likely will be something that either campaign will have little control over.
I would RULE IN an October surprise, or even multiple surprises. But, I doubt they will be very impactful. We’ve become increasingly distrustful of information, and for good reasons—we know foreign powers are manipulating and interfering in our elections, including Iran, China, and Russia. We recognize that AI will play a role in this landscape. The media has become more astute and is less easily fooled, as are local and national governments. So, while I expect surprises to occur, I also anticipate that they won't have the same level of impact as in the past.
The Robinson p*rn thing in North Carolina is an October Surprise. It's not presidential but kinda is because it puts some pressure on Trump.
it is not yet October September 2024 has been a month of self-inflicting woulds by the Trump campaign and his surrogates
‘The Race Has Been Completely Reshaped!’ Shocking NBC Poll Showing Harris Surging to a 5 Point Lead Over Trump the new poll shows a contest that is breaking very much in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris. The Democratic nominee leads former President Donald Trump by 5 points in the new poll — 49-44. That’s a 7-point swing from the network’s poll in July — when President Joe Biden was still in the race. Trump led the NBC poll 45-43 just before Biden’s withdrawal. “This is the largest increase that we have seen for any politician since George W. Bush in the wake of the September 11th attacks on this issue,”
until this most recent poll, Trump had been polling consistently at 46%, his ceiling. does this trend suggest erosion of Republican support for the 78-yr old convicted felon ?
We have to define what is an “October Surprise”. Generally these are thought of as major moves or announcements by an incumbent administration. I don’t think something like that will happen.
