I'm against people wanting them to bunt when they're the road team. 1 run doesn't win you these games as a road team. That's holding serve.

The home games, if they have a chance to win with one run, entirely depends on the situation as to who is on base, who's coming up. You bunt a guy over, fine... but if your best hitter is up next, they'll walk him. And if your hitter after that is a DP threat, the opposing team is out of the inning with potentially one more pitch.

Yep, the thing about situational baseball is that it depends on the situation.

    Nick.
If my team had 2 top bunters that could bunt like mofos and get bunt base hits regularly. Could you imagine the riches? Oh golly mercy me.

That game A'S had 3 in a row. Wow. That was amazing to me.

Perhaps a bunting school for bunting might rake in so much get all the top players learning the art of bunting for base hits and so much more.

There's no reason for everyone not to know how to push/pull one down the line, especially given the shift on some batters.

Hell, Yordan ****ing Alvarez may be the best bunter on the team.

Sometimes you need that bullet in your gun, and everyone should be able to fire it. Not "everytime" but "sometimes"

I think you’re being sarcastic… or at least I hope you are.

Yes, having guys who can bunt is fantastic…plenty of ex NL pitchers could probably get on base better than J Abreu was doing just by bunting… mainly because teams also have trouble fielding bunts as they’re not as common place.

But unless its a point of emphasis in the majority of these games (which its not), its going to continue to be a dying skill.

    That's a skill right up Beane's & Luhnow's alley

    ;)

Be prepared to take advantage of what the other team gives you.
