The Edwards sack that was called helmet to helmet. It was an incidental tap when coming down with momentum. The rodeo tackle on Mixon that wasn't called. Awful night for the pinstripes
I know it worked in our favor last night, but Azzez about to catch a 1-game suspension (maybe gets away with a fine)... but he punched a guy who looks like they were not even involved in the fracas
I’m gonna be a broken record that clubs baby seals. Why did the clock stop for the bears when they committed a penalty on the final drive. Why has nobody (except a few posters on here) said a word about this?
I thought they did a 10 second runoff and then they let them snap it with a running clock.... but I cannot really remember
They did not, they put 2 seconds back on the clock actually (30 to 32). I can rewatch bc maybe I’m just ****ing losing it, but in my head I’m quite certain.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay/_/gameId/401671786 Looks like there was a penalty... even if it was declined, I thought penalties stopped the clock
Yes of course there was a penalty, so is that how it works then am I missing something so if you’re an offensive team with no timeouts, just go ahead and commit a ****ing penalty and then you’re good to go time out granted?
I'm with you and losing Tunsil is going to happen in a couple of years. Fortunately they're training Fisher to take Tunsil's spot.
“ A clock runoff can come into play in an NFL game under certain circumstances, specifically when a penalty is committed by the team on offense under the following conditions: 1. Inside the Last Two Minutes of the Half or Game • If the offense commits a penalty in the final two minutes of either the first half or the second half (or overtime), and the penalty stops the clock, the defense has the option to decline the penalty and request a 10-second runoff. 2. Types of Penalties That Trigger a Runoff A 10-second runoff may occur if the offense commits one of the following penalties, and it results in the clock stopping: • False start • Illegal shift • Intentional grounding • Illegal forward pass • Any other penalty that causes the clock to stop unfairly to the defense”
I'm over Akers fumbling the ball. We're asking a lighter back to run into a wall with when the defense knows you're going to run it inside the 5. We're going to need him and Dameon.
That's what the runoff is usually for and IIRC referees have some discretion to see if it was intentional and end the game. Also, just trying to help broski... no need to snap
The first two games have raised a host of issues. The Texans, so far, don't look quite as "fluid" as they did last season. The Vikings game will determine to what extent those issues can be fixed. A huge factor is how much the "league" has viewed tape and made adjustments. Pressuring CJ is obviously their number one priority.
