Isn't Scott required to pitch to 3 batters before he can get pulled?

Astros now 2 games clear of the 3rd place WC Twins. Multiple avenues of making it to the playoffs are taking shape.

Happy we won. Bummed the Mariners have squeaked out a couple late the last couple nights.

I'm saying you don't pitch Scott at all. I would have had Ort pitch the 8th and hopefully he gets through it, otherwise you bring in Pressly in the exact same fashion.

Scott can't be used in high leverage situations at all. He's turned into 2023 Rafael Montero (the magic is gone). Remember how many botched outings Montero had until dumbass Dusty finally came to his senses and never used him again in high leverage situations?

To answer your question, Scott had pitched to 3 batters before he loaded the bases with the hit batter. Why was he still in the game?

about to be pushed to the Dubon, Alvarez, Tucker outfield. Has Heyward ever played center?

I don't think anyone active is going to catch Verlander in career wins... didn't realize Morton was that high...

    1. Justin Verlander (19, 41) 260
    2. Max Scherzer (17, 39) 216
    3. Clayton Kershaw (17, 36) 212
    4. Gerrit Cole (12, 33) 151
    5. Johnny Cueto (17, 38) 144
    6. Lance Lynn (13, 37) 142
    7. Charlie Morton (17, 40) 138
    8. Chris Sale (14, 35) 136
    9. Kyle Gibson (12, 36) 112
    10. Sonny Gray (12, 34) 111

    He was pulled after 4.

He had one out, 2 on, when the "HBP" happened.

Yep. But don't let that get in the way of his anti-Espada agenda.

I don't think Cole has the dog in him to pitch into his 40s but if he does he would just need 10-11 Ws a year to sniff it.

Mariners get to face a Corey Seager-less Rangers team who have already given up on the season for 7 games. I've noticed they've been very fortunate facing teams on cold streaks or without their best players.

We need to just end their season when they come to MMP. I don’t want them making the wild card.

I expect Verlander to finish with 275 with 2 more seasons left in him... somehow.

Astros, as it stands now, would face the Twins in the WC round.

The Twins are 7-18 in their last 25 games.

WC vs Twins (3 games at home)
    Valdez Tuesday
    Brown Wednesday
    Kukuchi Thursday

    Then the ALDS vs Cleveland
    P4 Saturday
    Valdez Monday
    Brown Wednesday
    Kikuchi Thursday
    P4 Saturday

So there's the rub, if we have JV or Arrighetti as P4, they figure most prominently in the ALDS. So maybe we move Kikuchi to P4.

Also, MLB website indicates the winner of our WC round would end up playing AL #1 seed. That can't be. #3 Division winner should be facing the #2 division winner if we win the WC round.
