Six innings, three runs is a quality start; Five innings, two runs is better, is it not?

    He's been ballin all season.

ERA-wise.. bullpen better be rested though.

I'd run him out another inning with somebody warming.

I would pull him. He’s lucky he has only given up 2 runs.

Yordan gets another trip to the plate and starts all over, right?

Hopefully we're not done scoring.... or witness further leverage abuse.

    That's ridiculous.

You thank your lucky stars he gave you 5 innings.

You're from the Joe Espada school of not being able to read the flow of the game.

Bless you Cubs for releasing Neris.

It's not like Dana Brown did his job at the trade deadline regarding a relief pitcher.

Not looking forward to facing the Padres.

    Darvish, King, Cease tentatively scheduled.

We need to sweep the Angels.

Dana gambled that our medical staff is better than it really is.

2 runs in 5 innings isn't bad and the WHIP also not catastrophic... but the 2 Ks is a sign that not all is well

Yeah, the 1-2-3 5th inning by Verlander... with a bullpen whose leverage guys are facing their 3rd game in 3 days.

But you got your wish. Surely you'll give Espada credit.....

Didn't look like he had a putaway pitch. Question is if he'll get it back or if this is his new reality given age and injuries.

His FB was clocking 91-93 tonight, maybe the slowest avg he's had since his return. But if his slider is on, he can still get swing and miss.

If he has similar outings like this in his last 2 starts I think he's our 3rd starter in the rotation. Also depends on what Arrighetti does. I think he has to have 3 outstanding outings without a hiccup to combat what I described with JV.

I think we need JV in this rotation to have a shot. Crossing fingers he gets on a roll to end the season.
