thats a pretty moronic take considering that just this week trump said ABC should lose their broadcast license because of the debate, called for military tribunals for liz cheney, the execution of gen. milley and has directly called for the weaponization of the justice department to go after his political enemies. not to mention that in 2016 one of his main campaign promises was that he was going to lock up hillary clinton. you have to be a complete idiot to believe trump or gabbard on this.
Trump spewing new propaganda and lies at every rally. He's unfit to serve this country when his lies are so pathological he can't stop himself. Speaking at a campaign rally in Las Vegas on September 13th, Trump said: "Does anybody want to get drafted in the audience?" The question was met with boos. He then went on to say: "Because that's what they're doing. She's already talking about bringing back the draft. She wants to bring back the draft, and draft your child, and put them in a war that should never have happened." Trump did not clarify the war he was referring to. Additionally, policy proposals and issues published on Kamala Harris' campaign site have no mention of a draft. Mike Lavigne, an Army veteran and senior advisor to VoteVets, a progressive PAC dedicated to elevating the voices of veterans and military families, told Newsweek: "We have absolutely no idea what Trump is blathering on about. Selective Service is merely a list of those who could be called if there is a draft. That system has been in place for over 100 years, and Vice President Harris hasn't proposed changing that." Donald Trump was drafted five times for the Vietnam War when he was 22 years-old. However, he managed to avoid serving four times due to his student status, and one more time due to a sudden bone-spur diagnosis that he received right before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. Two years prior to the diagnosis Trump had been cleared for military service, and was an athlete at his university. The problem here is deeper than Mr. Trump’s electoral prospects. A growing segment of the American right is populated by, and susceptible to, cranks and conspiracists. A movement that used to admire William F. Buckley Jr. and Thomas Sowell now elevates a pseudo-historian who blames Winston Churchill for World War II and media personalities who sell falsehoods as a triumph for free speech. This isn’t an intellectual or political movement that is going to win converts, nor will it deserve them.
