I would have your more selective hitter at #2 even in front of your best hitter as the pitcher will be avoiding having a runner on when a strong bat at the plate.

it's gonna come down to the last series with the mariners.

astros have to win all three or else, it's gonna be a bad time.

I would imagine 2 out of 3 does it but who knows with this team. Might get swept by the Angels next.

The Astros still have time to take care of business:

    Win vs Oakland tomorrow.
Win 5 of 7 vs Angels
Win 2 of 3 vs Padres.

    Magic number down to 6

Mariners win 4 of 7 vs Rangers
Mariners win 2 of 3 vs Yankees.

Magic number = 2, Astros clinch by winning 1 of the 3 games.

Astros simply need to wake the hell up and take care of business.

    Games remaining:

    Astros - 17
    Seattle - 16

The fewer the better if you're already ahead.

    Shoutout to Altuve's discomfort

Yep, he's usually good for 100 pitches and had just come off of a great 5th inning. You gonna put him out there hoping he can get an 11 pitch inning? I'm not.

Espada had to end up using the bullpen anyways, just use the guys he used anyways. Was that one extra inning Espada tried to get out of Brown likely to happen since Brown was already sitting at 89 pitches?

How many games have the Stros lost this year because Espada tried to get one more inning out of his starter?

Not until Espada became manager has this post been true.

Historically your best hitters have always batted 3rd.

I wonder what the Stros record is and the runs scored with Yordan batting 2nd vs 3rd?

Word on an injury from this organization?

    lololol

If he ripped his oblique off the bone they would say neck discomfort

Dana has a hard time telling the truth when he opens his mouth

Face it, this team is just not that good. They get swept by Cincy. Lose the first 2 to Oakland. I'll be glad when this season is over.

I fully expect lies to be told; the Astros FO has been horrible about being honest about injuries

That's been their MO since the beginning of the dynasty. If not before.

I expect it to be "day to day" for the rest of the season.

I think the broadcast mentioned the A's have the second best record after ASB right behind the Tigers so this series was not going to be easy, Framber needs to be Framber today. Rangers pitcher making his MLB debut so M's get no hit or win an easy game.

Historically you are right, but it is widely accepted around baseball that this is true now that actual research and data is being used to determine these things.

The reason it didn't happen prior to this year is because the Astros had a geriatric making those decisions.

    Look around MLB.
