He probably will be getting 1 mil more than whoever the highest paid QB at the time he signs his contract. This will be the beginning of the end of the Texams champuonship run. A run only lasts seven years from the time a QB signs his rookie deal. The Texans have 6 years to try to win a championship. After that cap issues will rule the day.

That's what will give them the 7 year window. The last couple of years of a deal that you're describing will be an albatross.

Dudes who were soon good that you didn't need to spend money on offensive skill players to be successful, I think there's a chance CJ is in that category.
