That guy never stopped lying his as* off the entire debate. Boy, he really told some crazy stories, but who would expect the truth from a pathological liar like him. Just a few of many blatant lies. I'm not listing them all, or even the half-truths he told, but he threw in lies every single time he spoke. So far there are 33+ lies and counting from Trump. I doubt there was ever a Presidential candidate in history who lied at this frequency. It's pathological. He really is an angry, sick old man. Trump: "In Springfield (Ohio), they're eating the dogs, the people that came in, they're eating the cats. They're eating, they're eating the pets of the people that live there." False. Trump: "They even have … he said, ‘The baby we will be born, and we will decide what to do with the baby.’" False. Trump claims Walz says "execution after birth" of babies "is okay." False Trump: "Every legal scholar, every Democrat, every Republican, liberal, conservative, they all wanted (abortion) to be brought back to the states where the people could vote." False. Trump: "It was a fraud, just like their number of 818,000 jobs that they said they created turned out to be a fraud." Pants on Fire. Trump claims "they had the highest inflation perhaps in the history of our country" False Trump claims Harris is busing in and paying people to attend her rallies False Trump claims crime is up in the US False https://www.politifact.com/article/2024/sep/11/2024-presidential-debate-fact-check-harris-trump/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-harris-abc-debate-fact-check/
More Trump Debates Lies Fact Checked Claim: Former President Donald Trump is still repeating a claim about the economy under his leadership. “I created one of the greatest economies in the history of our country,” Trump said Tuesday. False Claim: In a back and forth on the economy, Trump made this claim about tariffs. “I was the only president ever China was paying us hundreds of billions of dollars,” he said. False Claim: Trump labeled Harris a Marxist. False Claim: Trump also went after Harris and President Biden about the military withdrawal from Afghanistan, including a claim about equipment. "We wouldn't have left, we wouldn't have left $85 billion worth of brand new, beautiful (equipment) behind,” he said. False Claim: "A lot of these illegal immigrants...are trying to get them to vote." False https://www.wxii12.com/article/fact-check-trump-harris-debate-2024/62135440
More Trump fact checked lies from the debate. They just keep coming. Trump claimed in Tuesday’s debate with Vice President Kamala Harris that there was virtually no inflation during his administration. “I had no inflation, virtually no inflation,” Trump said. False “We have millions of people pouring into our country from prisons and jails, from mental institutions and insane asylums,” Trump claimed. Facts First: There is no evidence for Trump’s claim. Trump claimed during Tuesday night’s debate that “21 million people” are crossing the border monthly into the United States under President Joe Biden. False https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/10/politics/fact-check-debate-trump-harris/index.html
I'm honestly curious to see a tally of total number of lies and half truths for each candidate. I'm too lazy to look it up, but many Republicans are claiming Kamala lied all night, too, so it'd be fun to see a comparison.
Harris did have statements that weren’t factual and many that were technically true but misleading. Her claim that there is no active duty US soldiers currently in combat isn’t true as US forces have been fighting Houthis. Her claim that the Harris Biden admin has invested over a trillion in clean energy the actual number is around $700 billion. even with a few untruths and misleading statements it wasnt close to the calvacade of untruths that Trump let loose.
She had some half-truths and misleading statements, as did Trump. When it comes to pure blatantly false statements my guess would be Trump led that 15 to 1. Sometimes I think he just starts making up crap on the fly, because it's all he can do.
Trump negotiated the Afghan Withdrawal with Abdul. Maybe yes. Maybe no. We have to hold out for the possibility that "Abdul" is an imaginary person ... much the big strong men who approach Trump with tears in their eyes ... the English professor friends who are amazed at Trump's ability to "weave" ... etc. Adbul is the leader of the Taliban. FALSE.
Is Trump profoundly ignorant? Or is Trump a compulsive liar? Is either a characteristic you want in the POTUS?
He says what he wants without caring if it's true or not. He probably thinks everything he says it's true, because no one ever has called him out. It's like an echo chamber. You come up with some outlandish explanation and if everyone just goes along with it, you think it's reality. What's scary is that the Boomer GOP is a 100 million person echo chamber that gets reinforced by a media company that doesn't give a crap.
The preliminary numbers are a blowout: Trump 33 to Harris with 1. Trump has always excelled in this category, so no surprise. I'm sure that including misleading statements could close the gap a little bit.
CNN Fact-Checker Exposes ‘Lie After Lie’ That Donald Trump Told At Debate Daniel Dale summed up the former president's debate performance with two scathing words. Former President Donald Trump “made at least 33 false claims” compared to “at least one false claim” from Democratic rival Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s presidential debate, according to CNN’s fact-checking reporter Daniel Dale. “What stood out was that this was a staggeringly dishonest debate performance from former President Trump. Just lie after lie on subject after subject,” said Dale.
John Stewart's response to Trump's Jan 6th claims. On a more serious note, Stewart criticized Trump’s response to the Jan. 6 insurrection; the former president repeatedly claimed that Nancy Pelosi was responsible because “she didn’t do her job.” “You spent two months riling up your base that our country had literally been stolen from them through fraudulent means, that you could never even get a whiff of in a court of law, and let yourself just abuse them,” Stewart said in response. “You pressed on. You abused their trust. You showed up for a speech? You f*cking tweeted, ‘Join me on Jan. 6, it will be wild.'” Stewart continued: “One thing will always be true, and it is the quality of the former president I respect the least: whenever he is cornered and forced to face even the smallest of consequences for his own mendacity and scheming, he reverts to the greatest refuge of scoundrels.” The host then shared a message to Trump’s supporters, saying, “This man, who constantly professes to be your champion, who says they’re going to have to go through him to get to you, will always, when the boat is going down, be the first into the lifeboats, because in that moment, he will always say the same thing: ‘I didn’t know anything about it.’” “In any other country, that lack of accountability would be disqualifying,” Stewart said. https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/jo...arris-presidential-debate-response-1236140400
