Not a word about these "influencers" taking money from Putin's propaganda machine. Money they would have had to be "brain dead" not to have figured out that it was coming from the Russian government. He's sucked into the Putin vortex. It's awful.

Thanks. The only reporting that bothers with these two that I have found says they are "at large." Not sure they are in the country.

It’s less co-intel but more raising awareness about hidden motives of influencers.
My understanding of the law is for transparency and to address potential conflicts of interests involving foreign interests. Anyone has a free speech right and you can freely say you think Russia is the victim and invaded Ukraine out of self defense. People might consider that argument differently though if they know that Russia is paying someone to say that.

As noted the influencers aren’t being charged and I’m not sure how knowledgeable they were of the connection back to the Kremlin. As for charging the Russians this isn’t unusable to charge, indict or even convict foreign nationals
In US custody. There have been many Iranian officials charged who may never end up in US
Custody along with other foreign nationals.
I agree and more reason why I never signed up for Twitter, X, or TikTok. Why I’m also skeptical of such on YouTube (even though I’ve been called an “influencer” there). Also why I always take op-eds with a grain of salt and don’t often share them.
It’s as relevant as any other influencers’ take.

I didn't want to yesterday, but now I've found and read the indictment: u.s._v._kalashnikov_and_afanasyeva_indictment_0.pdf (justice.gov)

To answer my own questions, the thrust of the charge seems to be more focused on seizing the assets and stopping the flow of money than it is on apprehending the suspects. I also don't see any reason that the Tenet founders have not been charged with the same things that the RT folks were. I guess I won't be surprised if that happens later. Re FARA, the rub seems to result from the money ultimately passing from the Russian government and comes with instructions from the Russian government. The indictment spends some time outlining how RT gets government money and does covert ops at its behest.

More generally, we do seem to have a FARA problem. Because we have a spectrum of 'foreign agents' representing 'foreign principals' from these guys to Michael Flynn to Hunter Biden. Obviously RT is a problem to address. But there is a whole industry of these Flynns and Bidens who work for foreign companies that remain unmolested until there is political opportunity to be found in charging them. Is this a law we're going to actually enforce or is it just a political cudgel?

Could already be indicted and we just don't know about it (sealed indictments).

What about district attorneys being funded by Soros? That's buying a weaponization of the judicial branch.

Much more problematic than where some dudes with a social media account get their McDonald's money from.

You've been spreading Russian propaganda on this board for nearly a decade, and there are millions more like you doing the same. It's way more than just "some chode in Mom's basement" or whatever.

If you guys want to know why Soros is disproportionately targeted by right wing circles, it all started when Soros beat the British Landed gentry at their own game.

    https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/08/george-soros-bank-of-england.asp

If you know anything about the British Landed Gentry, they are immensely anti-semetic and their fee fees got hurt when Soros beat them at their own game and since they are British aristocracy they have large megaphone power to spread anti-semetic conspiracies about Soros. The people who pushed this narrative do the same type of banking and investment tactics like shorting. They just don't like it when a Jew does it.

lol I have absolutely zero to do with Russia

And for the record, I am very much on the side of Ukraine.

Your whole "Russian propaganda" schtick is ridiculous, leftists.

We are all old enough to remember when you called the Hunter Biden laptop "Russian propaganda".

George Soros’s Prosecutors Wage War on Law and Order

    Key Takeaways
Once these candidates get elected, they quickly...engage in prosecutorial nullification by refusing to prosecute entire categories of crimes.

Crime has exploded under Krasner’s pro-criminal policies. Murders are up 63%. Shootings are up 78%.

The rogue prosecutor movement is dangerous, well-funded, and systematically destroying America’s communities.
