Safeties were caught flat-footed on a couple of those due to the threat of AR tucking and running. I also have to give credit where it's due.... those were phenomenal passes. He also left at least 2 more on the field that should have easily been TDs. But, I will also say that as a game plan, what he did today is not really sustainable. I'm willing to bet the next time we see them, our secondary will be ready, and he won't get as many of those deep chances. We turned him into a passer today by taking away the run, and it worked.

Also, I just want to say that I can't remember a Texans team EVER that had the fortitude of this one. Giving up a blocked punt for a gimme TD, 3 50+ yard bombs, taking away 4 free points essentially, playing on basically a slip-n-slide, and having to overcome all of that in maybe your most hated rival's house?? ******* this win feels good!

I think the Texans may have broken both the team and the fan base last year.

Despite the uneven play, terrible turf, unforgivable officiating blunders, and poor game management, Texans are 1-0 and the rest of the AFC South is a collective 0-3. Joe Mixon, Diggs, and Nico Collins ftfw. **** you colts.

Browns fans melting down over Watson
Titans fans melting down over Levis
Panthers fans melting down over Young and the owner
    Giants melting down over Jones

You love to see it. Gonna spend the majority of my time reading other fans message boards tonight

I hope he makes the same decision in the same situation just a bit earlier.

. You can't instill the ' throw the ball away fight for another down' mentality if you're Slowik then say you can't make that decision. That's why I didn't consider it a pass attempt. The reason Brents couldn't get two feet in was due to the sideline trajectory.

The across the body throw is one decision you should never make but again he knew what he was doing.

This wasn't the same as the 3rd and 1 pass vs Cincy last year where he threw with no plan to the middle of the field as he was driven to the turf.

    Ease up on 'em.

The dude completed 3? strong passes the whole game and they were all "chuck it and **** it" throws.

Let's give them a week or so. Same with the rest of the team.

I wonder if the Colts will completely return their stadium. I can't imagine they will want to play on that slippery turf all year.

There were some concerning plays and lack of them today but it was game one and each team did what it set out to do and we came out on top. We were dead set on not letting Taylor and Richardson run crazy on us and they were dead set on not letting Stroud go off. At the end we ran better than they could pass, which was the game each team was trying to force upon the other.

    In other words....

    We da bess

Right but that’s like a quintessential Texans style **** up.

The defense had every opportunity to go ahead and put that game away and they kept giving it back to the offense to close it out. Luckily down the stretch the offense made all the plays they needed to make bc that game shouldn’t have been close.

Ward missed breaking up that pass by a finger tip.

It was refreshing to see a Texans running back have as good of a game as Joe Mixon did - the last time I remember a Texan RB have as good of a game as this was probably Carlos Hyde against the Chiefs back in 2019.

Those long bombs we gave up were definitely concerning. I haven't dissected the plays enough to know exactly what happened but I just kept thinking "well damn, if we're giving these kinds of plays up to a QB like AR, what happens when we play a legit QB who can dice us up?" Hopefully this was just first game rust. Richardson absolutely SUCKED at the short/medium throws and maybe got a little bit lucky on some of those bombs as well.

Overall a great win and what a way to start the season! Go Texans!

And both of them are trashes. Wouldn't surprise me if you said the Jags also have it.
