30 years of marriage, I'm wrong more then I'm right! To answer your question....how about too ****ing hot! Only105 in Tempe today but we hit 118 a few weeks ago......
It was 114 last weekend so 105 is a cool front. I'm from HST and spent many years in Dallas but we've been out here for 22 years and I'm still not used to this kind of heat.
Verlander needs work to see what postseason role will be. Arrighetti had a major hiccup, but it’s more likely an aberration. He’ll probably get a skippy before season’s end though.
Most impactful trade deadline starting pitchers in MLB history: Kikuchi is 4-0 and the Astros are now 7-0 in his starts. So that begs the question what team won the most consecutive times after acquiring a starting pitcher at the trade deadline? We all remember Randy Johnson 1998 trade to the Astros: 10-1 1.28 ERA Doyle Alexander got traded to the Tigers from the Braves in 1987: 9-0 1.53 ERA The team went 11-0 in his starts. The Tigers would go on to barely win the division by 2 games. They end up losing to the eventual WS champion Twins in the ALCS. Juicy nugget: Traded away an unknown minor leaguer John Smoltz.
I'm afraid Arrighetti reminded Espada of what could happen in the playoffs, I do believe barring a minor miracle he won't be part of the rotation. This is JV's spot to lose. I don't even think JV has to be outstanding. He just needs to be on the uptick. Valdez Brown Verlander Kikuchi Is my predicted order of the playoff rotation. Do not be shocked that Arrighetti is left off entirely as Blanco will be trusted for long relief and Dana Brown is hell bent on using Ferguson.
I'm glad somone like you are here to dig this **** up and post it. I'm either too busy or too lazy....or, on the weekend too inebriated.
For the most part my entire family is in TX so we visit but I dont miss the humidity, tornadoes, hurricanes or sleet, you can also golf here all year. If you can make it though the heat in AZ its CA weather after that.
He's got a ton of experience in the bullpen in the minors and even after he was called up by the Astros. Kikuchi just isn't made for the bullpen. Arrighetti is hard to tell at this point. That's why I have him with a 50/50 shot of not even being on the post season roster. JV makes absolutely no sense. That would be an absolute waste. You see Verlander coming in the 6th inning of a ball game?
