Pro-Russia was never a right wing talking point until MAGA was paid to make it a talking point.

 

I think it's more like The right wing hated Biden so much that when the Russia invasion happened and the administration began supporting Ukraine, that the right needed something to grasp on to so they could complain. Then came pro-Russia propaganda and right wing pundits hopped on board - it gave them a reason to complain about the Biden administration. They didn't need to be paid to do it. Russia is only funding them so they won't stop.

 

Russia sucks. Hopefully we can help facilitate ending that war for the sake of Ukraine.

The majority of Republicans are pro Ukraine and anti-Russia even with the vast majority of talking heads from Fox news to Tim Pool pushing Russia's talking points. It absolutely isn't laughable to believe Putin would prefer Trump.

If Trump wins in 2024, Ukraine has a far better chance of falling or at best losing half their country in settlement negotiations.

The idea that Trump is good friends with Putin is silly - I agree with that - they both just use each other to the extent that it benefits each of them - and that is as far as it goes.
