Astros keep losing games where they score less runs than their opponents. 0-65 in their last 65 such contests. Hopefully they will figure that out before the season ends.
May 8. Not sure if that's even still the case after the 3 game sweep. Research says these 2 teams have the best record since May 8: 63-41 Astros 62-42 Dbacks 60-44 Brewers No other team has more than 58 wins.
Actually you kid but that is the solution for this team. 23-39 in games decided by 2 runs or fewer 52-26 in all other games My point the entire time has been look at the record outside the close games, it's an astounding 67% winning pct as we speak. It's been pretty close to that the entire time. You can't square away 52-26 with 23-39. You just can't. Y'all can thumb your nose at it all you want. But there's something very wrong in close late games. Our record at worst should be slightly above .500 (e.g., 32-30). That means this team has left 9 wins out there at a minimum. I think it's worse than that. This has to be by far the worst disparity between those 2 sets of games in MLB history (67% vs 37%). A near 180 degree difference.
The Rockies are 23-19 in 1 run games, the Marlins are 22-17, the Rangers are 23-16, the Rays are 26-17.
Mariners started out winning almost every 1 run game the first couple months before now losing every one. It doesn’t matter what facts you give him, he’s going to continue with his narrative that Espada is costing us a bunch of games.
When the horrible slump started I believe he was predicting Espada would be fired at 29 losses or something like that but of course that angle and post all of a sudden went the way of the dodo bird when we went on a run, well.,,,three losses later, he’s back…..
