Speaking of not speaking for people out of turn, "yall" does not include me.

Would be interested to hear from those who were duped by that story, btw.

But hey, if you're never gonna eat your crow, I doubt they will either.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he is just a naive soul that's sheltered. Not likely the case, but I guess I'm being nice.

If people want a higher standard in their debates and discussion, they have to live it and earn it first.

I am fine with these indictments even though our DOJ is sketchy. Should Alexa get indicted or is she not foreign enough? I would think she reaches many more undecided voters than random podcasts.

It would be perfectly reasonable to expect Amazon's digital assistant Alexa to decline to state opinions about the 2024 presidential race, but up until recently, that assumption would have been incorrect. When asked to give reasons to vote for former President Donald Trump, Alexa demurred, according to a video from Fox Business. "I cannot provide responses that endorse any political party or its leader," Alexa responded. When asked the same about Vice President Kamala Harris, the Amazon AI was more than willing to endorse the Democratic candidate.

"There are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris," Alexa said. Among the reasons given was that Harris has a "comprehensive plan to address racial injustice," that she promises a "tough on crime approach," and that her record on criminal justice and immigration reform make her a "compelling candidate." Harris has been dividing Silicon Valley since she took up the Democratic nomination from President Joe Biden, with some leaders in the tech industry touting her potential as a pro-tech president, and others diving head-first into the misinformation circus that's being driven by new tools like AI.

The way I read this story, the influencers are not accused of any wrongdoing, they are potential victims. And there was no editorial influence exerted on them.

So, in the words of our resident leftists, this is a "nothingburger".

I am MUCH more concerned about Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups influencing the actual Biden-Harris administration, going in and out of the White House 60+ times, than I would be about whatever this is...random social media personalities making some money.

I find it easy to believe these people were not aware where their money was coming from.

I find it harder but not difficult to believe these people think the bullshit they peddle is true.

I find it incredibly difficult to believe that the people cutting their checks had no interest or influence on the content.

The DoJ is not perfect, but as long as it's independent and mostly staffed by civil servants, it’s not a political machine that targets opponents. That won’t be the case if Trump gains power, as he's been explicit about his intentions on using the DoJ to go after political opponents, and Project 2025 has a plan to execute them.

You might also want to consider Musk’s AI company, xAI, and question whether Musk should be indicted for being so pro-progressive when his xAI is prompted with certain phrases. You guys, who have very little understanding of technology, are easily duped into seeing conspiracy where none exists. This mentality of “everyone is against me” is not true. These "AI" businesses primarily care about one thing — profit — and being politically stupid or controversial doesn’t help with that.

As for indictments, the likelihood is higher that the owner of any company whose devices dare to bad-mouth Trump would be indicted by his DoJ.

There are six right-wing political influencers who unknowingly worked for a company that was a front for Russian propaganda. The guys here who consume content from these influencers are understandably having a hard time with this. Instead of facing reality, they’re defending it by claiming it’s either nothing or a political attack from the left.

    It's both of these things.

Every election cycle, the leftists come up with some "Russia, Russia" BS.

But Russians do have a nasty habit of defenestration. It is genetics or perhaps something in the water?

The DOJ isn't leftist. It is the department of Justice.

Lol “every election cycle” since 2016 when Russia started targeting useful conservative idiots?

Mueller found the Trump campaign shared information with Russian backed individuals.

    You aren’t even American also….

The fact of the matter is Putin’s Russia and US conservatives are more aligned.

There’s a reason why Russia targeted conservatives and conservative organizations like the NRA.
