I actually like the home uni's WAY better than the white road ones. I'll never like the goofy-looking horns on the shoulders personally and getting rid of the unique red number font a was a huge mistake imo. These Navy Blue home uni's are far superior.
Yea the aways should have used the same template as the homes and left the horn design for the battle reds
I actually like the horns, and I like that it’s not the same template as home, but I wish the horns continued through to the back. I feel like the fact that they are just half a horn on each side is what makes it weird.
Finally someone said it... https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2024/...lions-jordan-love-sean-mcvay-baltimore-ravens I’m most worried about Houston. The home uniforms look like an off-brand jersey you can buy at Walmart for 10 bucks, and the away uniforms look fine but are too similar to Seattle’s to earn high marks.
I think when you take the new unis out of the marketing box with smoke, lighting, and music they don’t look quite as bad ass. I think the home uniforms are legit, except I don't think they needed to go so dang dark to where it looks like they are black. Why not just make them black if that is the end result anyway? Definitely makes us Falconesque with the black endzones to boot and I pushed back on that at first. I will have to get used to the horns on shoulders, but white on white may be the best option for those. The two alternates I bet will be FIRE, but only see them a couple times a year unfortunately.
The new unis ain't good. Practically black, font looks way too similar to the falcons, and they're still pretty boring/cheap. They need an entirely new design/marketing team.
You can always be sure that someone will not like something you like and will say something ridiculously snarky about it I completely agree with you, by the way. I think the new uniforms look great. I love that they returned to the original darker "steel" blue. I love the white jerseys...probably my favorite along with the reds. The H-Town alternate looks good to me too. The H logo has grown on me already, and I imagine will continue to do so as the brand gets more embedded in my memory of the team. I'd say we upgraded what we had all the way around.
The biggest mistake they made in this whole rebrand was putting the Texans logo on the shoulder of the home uniform. It's overdone. All they had to do was put some sort of basic red and white stripe pattern there and call it. Walmart Home Uni's. The aways are fine.
Fill in the blank. I hate the new uniforms because _______. A. They look like all the other uniforms. B They don't look like all the other uniforms. C. I just hate uniforms. D. They aren't the ORIGINAL uniforms. I lean toward D. But everyone has their own preference.
There's literally a link in this very thread from the ringer bashing the uniform so your definition of universal is probably off. The unis are uninspired and boring which is 100% on brand for this organization so at least there's that.
You can like, or dislike many aspects of these uniforms. Say they look too much like other uniforms. Say the have too many logos or you don’t like a certain new logo or font. but to say they are “uninspired” and “boring” is absolutely ridiculous.. they are very inspired. One whole look is inspired by Htown, with the color scheme, and the font, both of which ooze Houston (doesn’t mean you have to like it). 2 of the others are inspired by the bull, horns, etc. the final one was inspired by, wait for it, THE OLD UNIFORM, to give us a classic look and try to keep those ppl happy.. As for boring? We added a new red helmet with bills on it, we added a new Htown helmet with speckled paint, the horns on the sleeves and numbers different than every other team.. again, you don’t have to like every portion of it. But “uninspired” and “boring” is just buzz words you are trying to use to justify your dislike.. and if you ask me, that’s a pretty uninspired and boring take.
Im really disappointed in the new uniforms. I don't care for the silly half horns, don't like the blue looking black, and unlike most, I find the white ones blah. My favorite of all was the battle red uni last year. I don't get why we need so many different colored uniforms, or why they decided to make the blue look black. The problem with so many different colored uniforms is our fans are all wearing different colors in the stands, unlike stadiums with nothing but a sea of red. Oh well, I love our team no matter what they wear. Go Texans!!
You've caught them in the act. They want white uniforms so they are ruined when you spill stadium food on them. Then you have to buy another jersey.
I believe the new colors make our jerseys much sharper than the previous one. Brighter red and darker blue look tough together. i always thought the previous uniforms was basic and lacked an identity. I’m glad we’re finally embracing the Bull. The horns on the away uniforms have grown on me. It’s unique and something we’ve never seen any team do.
Just for nomenclature clarity, I will give each element of the uniforms a simple unique character. Jerseys W, B & R - W is generally the Road Uni, B is the Home Uni and R is the Alt Uni. Pants B, W & R - B is generally the Road Uni, E is the Home Uni and R is the Alt Uni. Helmets B, R & H - B is generally the Road and Home Uni, R and H is the Alt Uni. Alternate uniforms must be worn at home. Away team can change standard Road to standard Away. I do not know how throwback jerseys are affected or controlled by the NFL. Please correct me where I'm wrong. Opening day has standard Jersey and Helmet, but the Road Pants. or WWB with 1 Jersey 2 Pants and 3 Helmet. Standard Road is BWB; Standard Home is WBB. I apparently left out the Color Rush Jerseys and Pants. These are also Alternate unis.
