We got a guy who can probably come off the pen or if they want to start him, he'll be a 2 or 3 inning starter. Hope Blanco or Arrighetti is ready to take over for him in the playoffs.

 

Maybe someday we will get an explanation why Pena is batting cleanup in this run challenged lineup.

 

So are you ready to write him off?

 

Here’s baseball: Pena hits a scorcher and it’s a double play

a half inning earlier a soft bloop drops in and they score 2 runs.

You can do everything right and still lose the play.

It's gonna be Espada's biggest decision of his young managerial career.

He certainly can't be the #1 or #2 starter. He won't have enough success going into the playoffs to warrant that status.

Valdez and Brown are locks. I think Kikuchi is the 3rd best lock right now. So who is the 4th? Blanco has extensive pen history in the minors. He sure looks like long relief right now.

If I were a betting man, JV is the 4th man in the rotation. France was deserving enough to be in the rotation last year and you see what happened. Arrighetti might suffer the same fate.

I'm just elated we have this problem.

 

Wonder why the Astros always struggle against the Reds. Even in years past.
