Mariners Reddit sub has been all hyped the last week talking about being back lol every comment now is about how done the team is…hilarious
Hilarious. I just looked up the score on my mlb app fully expecting to see a rather easy Mariners victory. Wow.
Astros start a 4 game series vs a very hot Royals team who is beginning the series with their 3 best starters. Mariners playing the worst team in baseball over the past few weeks. Astros 3-0 Mariners 1-1 Astros increase their last from 3 1/2 games to 5. Baseball is a peculiar sport.
What a day in the standings. EVERY team ahead of the Astros took L's, plus the Mariners lose. Astros are closer to a 1st Round Bye (3 games) than Seattle is to the Astros (5 games). Rinse and repeat.
Upcoming schedules Astros Reds Dbacks A's Angels Padres Angels Mariners A's Cardinals Padres Rangers Yankees Rangers We both play the Padres and A's. Reds and Cardinals are close enough. Astros have the resurgent Dbacks while they have the Yankees. That leaves us playing the Angels while they play the Rangers. A somewhat considerable advantage for the Astros. So that's leading up to the last week of the season when we play them in Seattle for a 3 game set. Here's to hoping we are 7 games clear and the games are meaningless regarding the division. Before this tough 2 week stretch began, we were 4 up on Seattle. We've gone 7-6, Mariners 5-6, increasing our lead to 5 games. More than you could have hoped for realistically.
Lol.... I'm just about done talking Mariners. They are 5 games behind with more road games than home the rest of the season (and they suck on the road). That fact alone puts them 6 behind, minimum. They won't win the final h2h matchup vs Astros ---> 7 games behind, minimum. The real competition is Cleveland for the Bye... and we have a 3-gamer vs them before it's all said and done. As far as I'm concerned, CLE and SEA"s only hope is Astros injuries. They are already living off of it just like every other team in MLB has this season. Plus, the manager isn't playing Maldy over Diaz. Let's sit back and enjoy the Dynasty.
I love how the Angels are so used to not being in the situation they all look unsure as they come out of the dugout to celebrate....
