what happened to vince mcman? didn't know he had a downfall from some scandal. thought breh just got grampa'd and retired.
If you haven't listened to the six-part Behind the Bastards podcast series on McMahon I highly recommend it. Pretty awful guy.
This sounds about right: McMahon was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina, on August 24, 1945, to Victoria (née Hanner; 1920–2022) and Vincent James McMahon (1914–1984), who left the family when McMahon was still a baby and took McMahon's older brother Roderick James McMahon III (1943–2021) with him. McMahon did not meet his father until the age of 12. McMahon's paternal grandfather was the boxing promoter Roderick James "Jess" McMahon, whose parents were Irish immigrants from County Galway. His paternal grandmother, Rose Davis, was also of Irish descent. McMahon was raised under the name Vinnie Lupton and spent the majority of his childhood living with his mother and various stepfathers. He later claimed that one of his stepfathers, Leo Lupton, beat his mother and attacked him when he tried to protect her; he said of the experience, "It is unfortunate that [Lupton] died before I could kill him. I would have enjoyed that." He graduated in 1964 from Fishburne Military School in Waynesboro, Virginia [via wiki]
There's also a 2nd paragraph I posted while you were posting. All my claimed kin from NC, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, etc moved to Texas a loooong time ago.
I dunno, but maybe you can answer me this: Why does every photo of Tears for Fears look like a couple who just had a fight and are not talking to each other?
Which one is Tears and which one is Fears? Maybe they're just mad at each other because they each want to rule the world.
"I'm going to look this way, you look some other way, but, for the love of God, don't look in the same direction I'm looking, and don't look directly at the camera" Little known fact - this is the reason the group eventually broke up. Curt got tired of confusing picture-taking. True story.
Anyhoo.... Vince McMahon is disgusting. He ruined my childhood love for rasslin' with that Jerry Springer-esque garbage called the WWE/WWF. Whatever happened to the good ol' days of rasslin when you just had people bleeding all over the place, a bit of good ol' boy racism, out of shape superstars, and the like. That's all I have on this topic.
I love this question. You may know this but a lot of their music is about mental health and mental health awareness...dealing with childhood trauma as well. Their first album was called The Hurting. Mad World and Shout and Working Hour are all about those ideas. Even the name of the band is related to a form of mental health treatment. I think that's so deep in them that even the pictures reflect that. The cover of Elemental was different because it was after the split up but Roland was still performing under that name. The cover of that album looks like a picture with someone clearly missing. Like Roland is on one half of the picture and there's empty space just to his side.
