Why only a 1 year deal? Is it because after that season they can sign him to some other deal? I know there are rules/incentives about older players and big contracts.

Curry was throwing out these little hints that he wanted to play with Lebron, removed GS Warrior from his profile, etc. Probably a tactic.

Maybe he doesn't know how long he's going to play + the team doesn't know how long he's going to be great/near-great, so a one-year deal at serious $$$ was a compromise?

I'm sorry to see athletes reduced to such small contracts. We need to be better to the ball bouncers that hold our society together.

Theres just no excuse for paying someone 892 times the median American household income when you can do more. Do better, owners.

Putting on my GM hat, with the new salary cap rules, I would only pay the supermax (35% of cap) for a true MVP candidate - top 5-10 player in the league. I don't expect Curry to be that in 2026/27. He fell to third team all NBA last year and 26/27 will be his age 37 season. He has a lot of miles on those tires. I hope Golden State is ready to look up the standings at the Rockets!
