I hate to see what Whitcomb looks like in LF if they think he’s good enough to play 3B defensively. He’s looked terrible in the chances he had there.

 

Jesus Christ Whitcomb is absolutely the worst defensive 3rd baseman I've ever seen.

Great job Joe Espada. If Bregman is still playing at 3B, that's a no hitter going into the 9th.

Arrighetti should be at 95 pitches heading into the 9th with a no hitter.

Shouldn't be a hit if I was the scorer. Would be an error on 3B.

 

Ultimately, the blame goes to Espada which then goes to the pitcher hitting Bregman in the head or he would have never been pulled.

Edit: okay...moot point now. F**K!!!

 

I think Espada is more worried about keeping Bregman healthy than a no hitter, which is cool but has zero impact on this team’s chance to win a WS…the ultimate goal.

He’s already playing with a bum elbow and just got drilled in the head his previous AB…

 

It was a play that should have been made, but I don’t see the scorer calling that an error. You can’t assume a perfect throw even if he fields it cleanly.
