The government absolutely should be monitoring speech for inciting commentary. Whether it is far right wing militias, far left militants, religious extremists, or other chaos agents seeking to destabilize or harm the US, it’s better to know and prevent then and not wonder how something so awful happened after the fact. Humans are violent but the whole point of a society is to delegate that violence so we can live in peace.

Yes, if Obama was running in 2024, he'd be all over the podcast circuit. I'm not sure why you're mentioning Trump or Biden in this case because Trump is going on podcasts (weren't as many popular ones in 2016 as the arena was just opening) and Biden of course didn't. In 2008, podcasts didn't exist. Yeah it means they're tired or exhausted. They also aren't VP-candiates/their spouses, just random folk. Harris' campaign is trying to force positivity by using the media to push "joy". But disparaging your opponents and using junior high bullying tactics isn't a positive campaign either. Her supporters are just as bad at name-calling as Trump's are, so you have that too. People aren't buying into it at all, or else you'd actually be seeing it. Media members using it in headlines or at the start of their segment does not equate to people buying it. If people really bought it, then the Dem internal polling wouldn't be absolute dogshit right now which is why they're scrambling (challenging Georgia, whining about the EV, etc). Harris' campaign has been playing off emotion and that only lasts so long. 70 days until the election and still no policy on the website. Harris campaign disrespecting independent voters and the media (her avoidance). Dems don't care because they vote blue no matter who, but you need more than that to win. The logic makes sense if you also understand the shift happening in the parties. The Democrats have fast turned into the neocon party, the "government is always right" party, and even anti-environment in a lot of ways. The thing about RFK Jr. is you talk about him as if you know him personally and have inside access. Yet, you realize this whale story just came out less than 24 hours ago? Do you think we'd have heard of it if he didn't endorse Trump. Again, there is a significant push to find any and all dirt on RFK as soon as he endorsed Trump. Actions speak louder than words. The actions of the DNC and their media arm, plus the oversampling of Dems in released polls that show Harris is far behind Clinton AND Biden, show they are afraid.

It bothers me, to an extent, because I am not one to exonerate W for his presidency but many in the Democratic Party seem willing to do it. But Harris vs Trump? Harris every time.
Yep. The Democrat party starting changing in 2016. The first time Trump got my attention was when he called out the Bush cartel in 2016 for going into Iraq off of fake premises. I was like "wow he's actually right about that". I liked Obama because he also knew the Iraq War was BS, meanwhile neocon Hillary voted for it. But now, the Democrat party embraces it. We had new wars under Biden breakout we've been meddling in. On the other hand, people talk crap about Trump buddying up with Putin or visiting Kim Jong, but wouldn't you rather those fools be docile than hostile? No new overseas wars under Trump is a significant thing. People trying to spin this as good campaign strategy are fooling themselves. No winning campaign does anything like this. Harris is not a spectacular, one-of-a-kind generational candidate for her to be coddled like this. It's honestly hilarious.

I can't imagine sis actually flip flopping on the wall. The whole party has been against it for years. They will do anything to win, as evidenced with kicking Joe to the curb, but that is just one wall I do not think they will breach. Did she actually say this or is it just a leak from an aide?
I would rather leaders of the free world not be so easily manipulated by foreign Authoritarian autocrats and dictators. I would rather American leaders stand up to them and not allow them to "do whatever the hell they want". I would rather them not take the word of the dictator over the intelligence of American agencies to the world wide press. I would rather the world ambassadors not openly laugh at our leader. I would rather our leader be able to work with our allies to make a stronger alliance against our adversaires.

I remember when Trump was first running people said he would get us into a war with Russia, then he was friends with Putin, but now he is being played by Putin, even though Russia did nothing while Trump was in office. somehow if he's elected again, they will? Russia was starting crap when Obama was in office, went quiet under Trump, then ramped up again with Biden.
