Nice job benching Altuve. Joe get your act together. Sense of urgency. Just wish we never got rid of Click. Then Joe wouldn't be manager, we would have done much better than that.
The Astros are just far too thin on the offensive end with one injury [Tucker] being this problematic. Really need some bats this off-season.
I asked tonight - yes they are looking very hard at a top end starter if they cannot extend Valdez at a number and length they want. Brown likes how competitive Fried is and the pitching guys love his curveball and sinker. Crane would talk about Cole if he comes back. They would not go to 6 years for anyone available - including Valdez and Fried or Cole. It’s all early - season not done, but have discussed possible scenarios from resigning Bregman and Verlander - to losing both and giving out high AAV contracts for less years to guys. Also @Nick was correct - Brown has interest in Walker in some scenarios. Other names thrown around? Wilson Contreras (that is a familiar name), Nolan Arenado.. aware from the Angels and Rooker from Oakland
He hasn't had the best month in August, and he's not a youngster anymore, I don't see why a day off or DH day or 3 is a problem going into September
Yea, I have never been more frustrated by the FO regarding injuries as this year. How many guys have been hurt by "sleeping wrong" or were in rehab and looking great and then they need TJ surgery, and the Tucker situation is very frustrating...........this has to be more than a bone bruise. And then driving home yesterday I hear the news Altuve needs a day off after having last Wednesday off made NO FRIGGIN sense, I`m sorry, your making millions of dollars to play a game and the face of the franchise playing a first-place team, you don't get the day off...............I am just tired of the BS from the front office, I get they dont wanna tip their hand but NEWS FLASH, you're doing it wrong.
Episode 76 of breathing orange fire is up. We talk injuries. And forest Whitley in the context of overall pitching. And anemic offense and giving away game. Listen, like, share and subscribe.
Worth a shot. He had a .813 OPS in 124 games last year. Slipped a lot this season but supposedly did real well in PH situations. Many Dodgers fans wanted to cut Chris Taylor over him.
We've said, "he can't be worse than ____" quite a few times recently. One of these times we'll be right.
