Should the boys get tampons too? I have no problem with free bathroom items like girls getting tampons and boys getting condoms or something useful. But what is a boy going to do with a tampon?
You don't get it. Most normal people are not going to call him "Tampon Tim" and most normal people probably support having free pads and tampons for children in public school. My suspicion is that most Americans expect that there have always been free pads in schools. Are we going to call him Tampon Trump - because Donald Trump signed a law letting prisoners have free tampons and pads in prison? The whole idea of the nickname is dumb - it is over something really trivial. Even Trump thinks it is dumb, as he claims he doesn't know why some of his supporters call Walz - tampon. I am glad you think it is funny - and others do too, but most men may snicker at it and that is the end of it... a lot of women probably don't find it all that funny.
The way some politicians need to take a good thing and turn it into something like this is just getting so old. At least talk about the merits like how we are paying for this, but then to resort to calling him tampon Tim and twist the law that was signed is just high school rhetoric and, in this instance, just makes the gop look like they dont want to help these kids.
The bill did not specify. If there are people born female, that are using the male bathroom - then I don't have an issue with them having them available... but when I asked a teacher in Minnesota about it (that is not political), he said there are none in the boys room but that if a student asks, they will be given some. I asked about whether there are any people born as females using the men's room and dressing like males and he said there are two kids he knows of in his school that dress as males and ask to be referred to as males... he said that the parents are aware of it, and that the teachers refer to the students as males because they do not want any issues or problems. He said so far no issues... that some students have made fun of them, but not really that bad so far. Worse issue has been a parent that said they did not want their kid in a school with a trans student... and they let the parent know that they can leave the school if they want, but as long as there are no issues - they will not remove the trans kids from the school. So IDK - I do know that if I were going to attack Walz, it would be on economics and not that he supported and passed a bill that allowed free tampons and pads for kids in public school. As to what will a boy do with a tampon? I don't know, and really don't care. Maybe they are curious about how it works? Think about it like this - you brought up condoms. If a girl came and asked for a condom, would you care why she wanted it? It is such a trivial matter - to me it isn't a concerns. You know I am against mastectomies for children and the use of hormones - I am not some extreme left supporter on this issue --- but that isn't what this is about. It is about access to pads... and to me criticism of it is off base and only hurts conservatives.
I assume they would be useless, the law wasn't written to be in the boys bathrooms and it was left up to the districts to work that out. I don't know enough about this, but kids should be able to get these types of things if needed. I thought it was a good bill, I thought the bill trump signed for prisoners was good to........its basic hygiene. Why this has turned into political theatre is beyond me “As written, the law does not require products to be put in men’s restrooms,” said Lacey Gero, director of government relations at the Alliance for Period Supplies, a nonprofit organization. “The law leaves it up to the local school districts to create a plan for providing products in restrooms but does not specify which restrooms.”
What are you talking about dude? When has a Democrat policy position been making sure we fund tampons In boys restrooms? This entire talking points is based on a bill that doesn't specify any gender and just is a bill that funds free tampons. That's all. It doesn't even say anything about bathrooms. For all we know most schools would provide them at the nurse's office in the school. Nothing about "tampons in boys restrooms". So the fact that this has become a talking point is precisely why people call GOP politicians and media personalities as "weird". Because someone turned an innocuous bill about providing free tampons at schools into this culture wara issue of "boys getting tampons". It's sad. It's pathetic and most of all it's God damn weird.
Girls should have access to condoms, I agree. And if the girls that dress like boys need a tampon they should be able to access those as well. I just hope they aren't putting them in boys restrooms like they did in Wisconsin. That's a waste.
regardless, hopefully she doesn't go all Donna Brazile. you think this is a reason Kamala doesn't want to go on Fox because Trump has buddies there? The only candidate from any primary or election that is doing things different is Kamala. If Obama was running today, don't you think he'd be on the podcast circuit himself? He'd be all over it because he isn't scared, shows signs of a leader, and his campaign would not hide him like Kamala. Body language experts exist for a reason, and I'm certainty not one but have been around, so can say they did not look excited, happy, or energetic. They looked disconnected, and her husband was nodding like someone would who isn't paying attention in a virtual meeting. No one is claiming Harris is more popular, but they are trying to meme that popularity into existence. You look back at when Obama ran and see genuine excitement and look now and you see forced "joy" slogans everyone. You had "hope and change" but that was more united from the campaign and put on posters, unlike the joy thing which has been forced via the media as if it was organic. Months until the election but time is ticking out. The internals in the Democrat polling isn't looking good which is why you see them bringing up electoral college again. That's why there are so many headlines disparaging RFK Jr., despite his policies aligning with any liberal out there, because he is for sure going to help Trump. Harris is barely up in the polls after the convention and is far behind where Biden was in 2020. Personally, I think it'll be a route with Trump winning 3 of PA, WI, MI, and GA.
Yes Brazile did tell Hillary that someone from the audience was going to ask about the water quality beforehand. Do you think Hillary's answer to that question was a giant mark in her overall performance?
I guess that's your admission that her friend is just an executive at ABC and not in fact a moderator. I'll take it. Who is supposedly scared or not doesn't interest me. There's one debate at this point and they both agreed to it. Let's see what happens. I don't think Trump's going to do as bad as everyone thinks. He did okay against Hillary and has appeared somewhat sane at times in recent interviews. His side will claim a win, regardless of how he does on the issues, you can count on that. But so will Kamala's. What's going to matter most to voters is whether or not Kamala can make her case to the American people that her policies are superior, and, at the same time, prove that she can stand up to him.
I think given Biden’s performance the bar is actually lower for Harris than it would be. I think all Harris has to do is show she can respond to Trump’s attacks and call him out. I don’t think she needs to knock it out of the park on policy or humiliate Trump.
Maybe I'm wrong, I've only watched this once and just briefly. But it appears the delay between her voice/the audio and her lips moving gets longer as the video plays. I think it's doctored.
Also tampons are frequently used for bloody noses and we have used them for both men and women in martial arts tournaments for nose bleeds
