No, he isn't afraid of much - the entitlement is VERY VERY high - he has gotten away with doing any and everything he has wanted to do with almost no consequence. Bravery is overcoming fear - a complete lack of fear in all things is stupid. I know he has to be REALLY pissed about the Biden decision being so close to the assassination attempt - he had to think that would be political gold for years, from the huge gauze to the claims of divine intervention..... instead he only got weeks and now the press and media and American people have moved onto something different (for the time being) and he is left giving 6 hour speeches in 100 degree heat while his bronzer melts and makes him look like some sort of swamp monster. Having said that - dude isn't done yet, lots of time left for Old Hickory to pull it out and make the world pay attention to him for at least four more years.
If I'm a GOP politician I'd probably rather the Democrat party win Presidential elections. Why? It seems like the GOP political machine thrives more when they aren't in presidential power because they can come from a place of attacking rather than governing. This is especially the true with a candidate like Trump because trust me, most GOP politicians hate having to defend Trump rhetoric and actions and if he becomes president they know all the gaslighting they'd have to do. It's easier for a GOP politician to attack Democrat executive branch policies than defend a Trump presidency. If Trump loses this election, he's done as a politician and I think many GOP operatives and politicians would have a sigh of relief that it's over having to defend the unhinged nature of Trump.
So if the US ever decided to leave Afghanistan in your own terms that would imply stripping all the ANA and ANCOP of the US equipment we provided them? You do know how the Taliban got most of the US military equipment right? It wasn't from the US leaving equipment behind. It was from ANA and ANCOP personnel surrendering and not putting up an iota of resistance.
The problem is that after Trump being the unquestioned leader of the party the last 8 years - almost all of the Republicans in positions of power have forged some degree of reliance or cooperation with Trump. If Trump loses, it is possible that we will see a radical change in the leadership and demanor of the party and that scares those that have some obligation to Trump.... so they all tread lightly. The 2024 election is going to have a profound influence in the two parties going forward. If Trump loses - then he will be labeled a loser by his own party internally and his influence, and the influence of those that model themselves after him will really falter. A generic Republican candidate would win this election and the Republican leadership knows it and has even publicly stated as much - so a loss, and the Republicans likely realign, and a power vacuum opens up and is filled. Trump wins, and his version of the party likely survives at least another decade or more. The Democrats are already moving away from the old DNC establishment, but if Harris loses - there will be a massive vacuum and the party will substantially change in order to win election in 2028. If I were a more liberal Democrat, I would at least consider the possibility that a loss in 2024 would open the party up to being more liberal in 2028.
Let me add that anyone who interacted and personally trained ANA and ANCOP personnel knew this would happen immediately as soon as US troops left. We trained a bunch of poor dudes with no national identity who just wanted a paycheck and put them up against ideological lunatics who would fight to the death. Ya they were going to surrender immediately.
Ok, idk why you need to announce it, like its gonna make any difference to me if I'm on ur ignore list or not.
I never know if these families do this as a stunt for the NRA or maga but this is not normal, have your guns, go nuts but do "normal" families take a Xmas photo where there all holding their favorite gun? Maybe I just run in different circles, the photos I get are typical families with their animals and new children/grand children and not one has ever had a gun in it........................maybe my friends and I aren't in the cool club like these hipsters
It is and always has been odd - and often times comes across as not just cringe, but also as inauthentic. It became popular in the last 15 years, there is a lot of it in Texas and other Southern or rural communities. It does seem to resonate with some voters though. To me, the idea that a wealthy politician that lives in the suburbs goes around arming his family like an 1850's homsteader in Oklahoma would is beyond absurd but is actually insulting.
Like you said, it was obvious they were going to surrender immediately. So it would have been better to get the weapons out, rather than them falling into the hands of the Taliban.
They're just ****ing around, it is cringe tho. I'm willing to say that 90% of the country folks/rednecks that I ever encountered were hardworking, law-abiding citizens. They like their guns so what, they're not breaking the law
Oh ya because before withdrawing we should have lined up all ANA and ANCOP personnel and de-arm them. That world doesn't exist. That would never be an option lol.
Difference between liking guns and making it your identity. It's turning a materialistic item into a cultural value of personal identity that is cringe. Corporations love when material items become an aspect of cultural personal identity. Mo money.
