Political indoctrination is a very loaded term and can mean many things. As for it being part of the culture war efforts - that is the case for both sides, as there were a lot of people on social media discussing books with homosexual characters, etc. that should be banned. This wasn't pulled out of thin air by the left. FWIW all of this stuff is exaggerated by both sides - I can think of drag queens and banning of books for example. It is a lot easier to discuss these issues than to discuss issues that actually are more important but not as easy to fix.
This is true. But when you look at the actual data, only 7 % of the books affected have anything to do with LGBTQ. And 3/4 of the books that were reviewed were put back on the shelves. (see the article I posted in my previous post). So it's clearly the other side that is using the topic and exaggerating its importance.
Absolutely I am, since it was false and/or inaccurate. Books are being banned. You can check out the information from the American Library Association. This isn't a both sides issue. Go to any leftist content and you'll see them spending hours discussing stuff like Realpage and tocie fixing it rent, or the war against homeless encasements. .culture wars is entirely a product of right wing media. A progressive group of people created a program for men in drag to read to children because they think exposure of people who are "different" allows children to not immediate judge because "these people look weird". That in itself isn't leftists spamming their rhetoric online. It's just some people with interests going about making these type of programs. T isn't part of some political battle. The right spams video and images out of context or singular anecdotes to high heaven on social media to create a perception that he left is extremely powerful and wants to groom children etc. That is a purely manufactured social media algorithm issue. We don't have to both sides everything. Don't know why you keep on doing this "both sides " thing. Is it to earn some capital in trust towers right wing posters to create the appearance you are fair?
The culture wars is primarily pushed by the Republicans the last 4 years because they believed that it was politically beneficial for them to do so. Having said that, there was some left-wing social media that was also pushing cultural wars - but I agree with you that it is less common. The Republicans spammed the same 2-3 issues so often the last 3-4 years, that I think it has started to lose some of its effectiveness the last 6 months or so. As far as gaining credibility with right win posters or people I know - I am not concerned about that, I have had people I love that are to the right or me my entire life. I try to be honest and straight forward with my opinions. As I have become older, it is my observation that often times there are shades or gray more than black and white. Seldom is one side entirely without some virtue or truth.
The left response to culture wars like this: "Why are you disproportionately targeting these powerless groups in your political rhetoric and propaganda? This concerns me over the safety of those groups". That is the interaction of the left towards culture wars. 99% of "leftist trans content" online is "why are you guys picking on them so much?" The left by it's very core nature would always want to push for political discussion around cost of living, wealth inequality, org sizing labor etc. They are the last ideological group to want to stray away from these topics. The less they have to spend time trying to protect the safety of marginalized groups the better for them. But if they see a marginalized group being harassed the they have to meet it head on.
What's hilarious about this is that Trump dumps a triple dose of lies on them daily and they don't even question it, yet they dig and dig for what they think is a lie from Walz over something as ridiculous as this nonsense.
