- Baltimore got beaucoup luck and still couldn't win the series. Peasants - Kikuchi's numbers suffered, but only because Baltimore luck -- those fools hit HRs 6" above the zone and only won games where Stros defense went dumb. - Astros 5-0 in Kikuchi starts - Bregs and Diaz go b2b (Yainer's farthest career HR - 455') - Astros maintain their 4.5 game lead Shoutout to Yordan's neck .
Fantastic series if you're just a fan of baseball and don't care for either team. We had them for a sweep and we let them off the hook!! Usei got robbed from a shut out with 'ball 4' on a strike. Alejandro just said "They don't give out gold gloves for nothing" on Dubon's catch. He clearly hasn't seen Gremlins. Clueless to the Gizmo and Spike reference by the old espn lady.
Orioles at home tonight drew 21,000 fans tonight, A's drew 15,600. If this game was played at MMP tonight, we would cover both home crowds.
Nice job Astros. I really thought you’d lose this one. Now beat the Phillies. oh and Yordan you gotta play dude. Just stfu and DH.
One of his best games so far. He also beat out that groundout which led to the throwing error by Urias which put Gamel on 3rd to eventually score.
Easily could have been a 4 game sweep against one of the best teams in baseball...without our 2 best hitters.
Yeah, saw that as well. Baltimore much like Houston in terms of they’ll support the hell out of a winner… but first the team has to actually win something. Astros are routinely drawing 30k+ on weeknights. Hopefully the team-owned network will start paying dividends soon as well. Add the hotel/entertainment area coming up, and Crane will have optimized his revenue streams while being the owner. The next steps after that… either build a new stadium (or cash out by selling the team).
Tonight was the “worst” of the starting pitching as well, and it was really only one eye-level fastball that Urias had to be looking for. That is not an easy lineup to shut down. The Astros now have 6 starters that any given night can throw a quality start and it wouldn’t surprise anybody…. Not sure thats happened in the golden era, and not sure any other team can say the same right now.
Maybe. They did do well for the day games. Had 22K for the thursday night game. MLB/ESPN needs to put sunday night baseball out of its misery. The best is the upcoming few weeks where they try to go head to head with the NFL. Why even bother?
