You guys are beating a dead horse at this point. The season hasn't even started.

Gaslight..lmao... I guess they gaslit him into becoming a multimillionaire athlete too...

Playing basketball was the only way to get him away from crime and bad neighborhoods but it didn't work.

    That's called consent.

Generally used towards your own kids as a term of endearment.

In this case, it's a way to talk down to others without technically breaking the rules. Essentially calling someone a dumbass.

Lol I do stats based rankings for fun, so filtering out for only SGs according to BBall Reference:

    1. Donovan Mitchell
    2. Kyrie Irving
    3. Anthony Edwards
    4. Dejounte Murray
    5. Desmond Bane
    6. Scottie Barnes
    7. Derrick White
    8. Terry Rozier
    9. Tyler Herro
    10. Anfernee Simons
    11. Bradley Beal
    12. Zach LaVine
    13. Immanuel Quickley
    14. Collin Sexton
    15. Devin Vassell
    16. RJ Barrett
    17. Austin Reaves
    18. Bogdan Bogdanović
    19. Jalen Green

Granted, this includes a couple hybrid wings so maybe a couple spots higher for pure SGs. Again I think he jumps up several spots this season.

That's an excellent question, thank you for asking. It's because I'm often talking to those who come off as children with their infantile fanboi routine or feeble minded argumentation.

It's not that weird. Just search his name and any word that's an insult and you will likely get just as many pages. He's just rude and has been doing it on here forever.

An insult isn't an insult if it's merely an accurate description. It's not my fault if there's a lot of really stupid, overly emotional types who want to argue with me.

Accuracy has nothing to do with an insult. It's still an insult if it's accurate.

A non-insult is the same message without the extra layer of ad hominem attack. The only purpose that insult serves is a way for your ego to seek out other people who are as insecure as your are (thus helping you feel a little more human). Yes, I know you don't agree. That's the condition of being owned by your tiny ego as evidenced by the volume of insults you desperately need to dish out every day in your life (just on this board).

I insult people too sometimes, I'm just not in some mythical fantasy about it being related to accuracy. The problem with you is I usually tell people they can make their point without the insult, but there's actually nothing useful beneath your insults which is so rare so the only other alternative for you is to shut the F up. The problem is - shutting up is exactly when you start to hearing that voice in your head insulting you, and that's exactly when you reach for your smartphone to dish it out. To exit this cycle, you have to trust someone in your life while your ego attacks them. Most rarely get out. Good luck with that.

Be careful, it's literally eating your nervous system slowly. That's its food.

I know there are people who feel so scared of men painting their finger nails, here's a video (first few minutes) of some adults talking about it, having different opinions, having fun and not letting it affect their BASKETBALL analysis:

Sometimes people just need role models.

This seems like a lot of projection mixed with a lot of emotion.... but not a lot of relevant substance. Honestly, maybe see someone about some of this if it applies to you.

When it comes to negative statements, that's just the natural honest response to certain scenarios. When people use the Latin "ad hominem" most use it inaccurately in the context of conversation. The literal translation is "to the person", but when it's used in conversation, it's a reference to the logical fallacy..... which isn't merely an insult or personal attack, it's a personal attack in lieu of a valid argument.

Now that we've learned that, let's apply what we've learned.

Let's say you're having a discussion and someone tells you that there's no such thing as dinosaurs, the earth is flat, and that vaccines cause magnets to stick to your body.

You then reply that if they really believe any of that, they are a moron and you go on to show proof that every claim is false.

Is that an example of the ad hominem fallacy?

Sometimes people say things that are so stupid it demands derision.... and that's not a logical fallacy.... or evidence of some weird issues you might want to talk to a therapist about... it's just the normal reaction to ridiculous nonsense.

Those who would cry when being ridiculed shouldn't say ridiculous things.

    Glad we had this talk.

Is there a avenue in which a difference of opinion on a basketball player signals a character flaw of immaturity as a overall human where they are "kiddo"?

Nah. I'm surprised you put in the effort to actually send your behavior here. You'd usually just ignore call outs like this.

Someone being anti-vax because they can't understand the difference between social media algorithmic spam and genuine sincere intellectual curiosity and research is grounds to call someone "immature" because it's a serious issue.

The issue isn't mere "difference of opinion". People can have a host of mostly valid opinions, especially if they are well thought out and defensible. There's a world of difference between that and brainless hot takes and weird cultists lashing out at non-believers...I don't have patience for those types.

Think of it as sort of an Overton window. There's a range of acceptable and the further outside of that window a person gets, the more ridicule they'll face for their opinion even if it's somehow genuine.

You tell me the Warriors run was based on Steph Curry being the greatest shooter in the history of the game, that's acceptable. You tell me the run was based on the Warriors as a team fully embracing Moreyball and having the talent to fully realize the potential of the basketball philosophy, that's acceptable. You tell me the run was based on help from the refs and untimely injuries to top contenders, that's acceptable too.

Now if you tell me the run was based on the Warriors having the best fans in the league.... that's so far outside acceptable in going to assume you are either insincere, you are a child, or you are a moron.

As to why I didn't merely ignore the poster, while I usually disagree with him, I feel like he puts effort into his posts and isn't fully dishonest. That buys people quite a bit of grace with me.

You are calling people "kiddo" because you are equivocating being a fan of Jalen Green to serious issues like vaccinations.

Your brain is all scrambled. You need bad c perspective.

Let's be honest, we're not talking about normal fans here, we're talking about delusional fanbois that outright idolize the guy. They lash out with emotional outbursts if someone doesn't praise their hero to the same extent they do... or worse if they poke holes in the grandiose false narrative they've built up around him. That's super childish behavior... the kind of expect from people who have weird shrines to the guy built in their room at their parents' house.

An actual adult acting that way is potentially indicative of very serious mental instability.

Those are one type of people I have very little patience for.
