Yeah he is a future superstar PG. He could be a superstar wing as well. He will be our best all-around player this year, mark my words. The only thing that can hold him back is if Ime just refuses to let Amen play the minutes in deference to vets like FVV and Brooks. I think he makes the jump to decent mid-range and corner 3 shooter this year. We have 4 guys that can initiate the offense and we should use them all. Other teams won’t know what is coming. Every minute Amen is on the floor makes a huge difference in defense and transition.
Thing I love most about Amen is that he plays hard even when he's struggling. Some of our other young guys get caught up in their feelings when things arent going according to plan - the body language turns terrible and the overall level of play suffers for them and the team. Amen is out there to cause havoc on defense and put guys in positions to maximize their own offense. Its a very selfless style of play and I commend him for it. Has all the tools you could ask for glad he's a Rocket. I really hope Ime lets our wild horses run free this year. No reason we shouldnt lead the NBA in transition scoring and highlight reel finishing with the athletes we have.
We have a SG that is capable of becoming a plus player this upcoming season. The problem is they want him to waste time trying to back up PG instead.
It’s harder with Dillon on the floor because he doesn’t rebound. FVV actually showed he could play faster, but is not really a transition player. When our lineup is Amen, Jalen, Tari, Jabari, and either Sengun or Adams we will be dominant in transition. Amen’s rebounding and court vision is elite and every defensive rebound he gets we will be off to the races.
Yes there will be a army of backtrackers. Honestly I'm already keeping list and will be calling them out by name when Jalen breaks out this season
Oh man, I know I’m not on the Jalen haters list, but I should be on the Rocketchamp list. I’m sure everyone that has ever had a negative comment about Jalen is shaking in their boots on the impending eloquence of your retribution. HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!!
It's all about credibility. Some of you have been piling on Jalen, who is still a kid in a new system with a new coach having his first child last year. When he does break out noone will respect your opinion given how stupid you will look. Jalen will be a superstar
What a freaking hypocrite you are. The biggest Alp hater on this forum wants to be taken seriously, your opinions on anything are null and void at this point.
Alpi realist not hater. He is a good offensive player. The best player narrative comes from people like you & others. The problem is you make excuses for him while pointing fingers at everyone else
Hypocrite. Any objective person sees who the best player is currently. You will never have any credibility
Is this really Amen? If so, seems bigger, geez. [edit] confirmed it is Amen. Found other photos. also, that’s, yet again, another practice facility better than the Rockets official one. sigh
Shot looks about the same, perhaps a bit smoother. I'd hoped they would rework the mechanics from first principles, but that is a very difficult thing to do.
Amen going for the tank build. I don't think he'll ever be a fluid shooter because he has some inherent stiffness. He seems to be going the Giannis route.
One thing from watching this video of Amen shooting I can suggest for Amen is work on your one handed release without the guide hand and without jumping right at the rim and then work your way further from the rim. It seems like he doesn't have that release aspect down. That could help him remove some of the stiffness in his shot. This method helps you get a good feel of how you should release the ball in a fluid motion.
HaHaHaHa! Between you and Roosh we should have Amen straightened out in no time. You do know he has a whole team of professional coaches helping with his shot.
It just feels like the base of his form looks like someone who started learning how to shoot just by launching threes rather than working on the release point without a guide arm. Like this is the basic drill you were taught at youth to avoid having this type of release that Amen has.
A lot of folks can point out the problems. Correcting them and committing the changes to muscle memory is infinitely harder.
