I can't tell if her speech was that good, or if we've just gotten so used to geriatrics in office that a proper aged adult seems extra impressive.
The caravan was delayed by the gender reassignment procedures that Pelosi ordered before they could be registered to vote.
As someone who paid close attention during the Obama years I can tell you it was that good. I was worried that after multiple pretty incredible speeches during this convention, that the bar had been set too high for Kamala. She far exceeded my expectations.
The whole DNC knocked it out of the park. Couldn't have gone much better. The RNC on the other hand, ended anticlimatically with a typical 90 minute Trump drawn out, boring ramble.
I gotta say: I have been -{how can I put this delicately?}- thoroughly and absolutely unimpressed with Kamala Harris... ...until that speech tonight. I thought that was not only genuinely inspiring, but politically prudent, taboot. She left talk of the history she would make to others, while she stuck to business. That's both oh so refreshing but also tactful. I'm on board.
Both can be true, why not? She was putting people behind bars on maximum sentences 15-20 years ago, when she was DA, and now she's doing something else. You probably had a different career 20 years ago. So yea
What is amazing is that she's been the nominee for such a short time. Her campaign, VP choice, convention, and perhaps most importantly, her ability to appear comfortable even presidential in her own skin has been amazing. I thought she was ovwrly-awkward, seemed inauthentic, and would be second guessing herself so much that it could have been a flop. That would be especially true with such an abbreviated time frame for her to prepare. She's nailed it and gone above anything I would have believed before she was the nominee. She wasn't my first choice, but I tip my hat to both her and the DNC.
this is not a case where Kamala’s speech was just meh or average, but seems great compared to stuttering/mumbling Joe Biden and mentally ill gramps…her speech last night was legitimately great and inspiring
Yeah if you aren't familiar with her life story it seems that way. She pretended like she grew up working class i One of the bigger gripes about her in California when she started running in 2019 was her pretending to be an East Bay working class girl, when really by the age of 9 she moved to Canada to attend a well to do school because her Mom was bank rolling because of her job. No financial struggle at all, so why pretend? Oh yeah for votes! And let's be honest, kamala could have farted the whole time, and people like you would think it was a great speech. That's very apparent
Thanks. We of CF.net could nominate our own candidate, based on whatever we collectively want as criteria, (or whatever mods imposed), and if we volunteered and did the work to get that person on the ballot in all the states, they could literally run for president. (Hypothetically, as I'm not sure of the deadlines in all the states, etc.) Maybe that would be a fun and educational project in 2028, haha. Think of the awesome tickets we could come up with.
It was a stretched truth with a conveniently skipped over major part of her life to pretend she was always the little girl in a working class family. Moving to Canada at the age of 9 because your mom has a great job now doesn't seem like a small thing. But her speech writers want to paint the picture she was born and raised until adulthood in the East Bay
Did she nut out of a 413 million dollar penis like her opponent? Or was she born into a political dynasty founded by a essentially a gangster sympathetic to German fascists in the 1930s like your idol?
Kamala's speech is like a kid who says "I got As!" on their report card and told their parents who are all happy. So they go somewhere as a treat to reward her but as they're buying the treat, they ask to see the report card. "Wtf Kamala where did this C and D come from? You told me you had all As?". Kamala would say "I said I had As not all As". That's what last night's speech felt like if you were familiar with Kamala in 2019 before she went national
