He said it doesn't hurt when he throws... I am thinking he landed on it wrong on a dive more than anything... but our A-level defense may slip to White Sox level if Caratini or Diaz are forced to play first and Yordan at left every day if Bregman is in a DH role. Bregman can play left as well though...
It doesn’t hurt when he throws? Well aren’t we paying him 20 million? Oh but it’s a contract year. Athletes today are so pampered.
No obvious reason why Neris can’t be as good or close to as good as he was in 2022-2023. Houston’s bullpen right now looks excellent.
People mess this up every year. We will not have a 9 man bullpen we will carry a 3rd catcher instead.
If Bregman is DH it would be because of his elbow so why in the world would it matter if he "can play left as well"?? Not going to stick a dude in left with a bum elbow
Bregman cant play LF if he has a hurt elbow. If Diaz or Caratini plays 1B will the defense really be that much worse than with Abreu/Singleton over there? Alvarez is a competent LF with a much better arm than Chas. Now if you want to talk Bregs defense at 3B vs Dezenzo/Whitcomb being a significant downgrade, then I'll agree with you. But Whitcomb has started to look more comfortable at 3B IMHO.
It's not affecting his throws. The issue based on the interviews is being in awkward positions. More likely on diving plays.
