So why can't he play against every right-handed pitcher? That's at least 75% of the time and that would be perfect.
Okay...okay...okay. What happens if we trade both Bregman and Tucker for prospects and other players? Astros still legit?
He pulls his front shoulder out on every swing. Hard to believe one of the coaches hasn't worked with him on this. Maybe they have and it's not working. If would just try to go up the middle or opposite field, he might improve. He needs to watch film of Yordan's swing. Yordan almost never opens up the front shoulder too soon.
I guess I conveniently ignored all the missed calls to the Red Sox hitters. Just seemed we got screwed over more between every 50-50 checked swing call going against us, all the pitch timer violations, the Yordan run that got overturned by NY, and Yoshida's close HR that stood.
Astros record after 124 games: 2023 -- 70-54 2024 -- 68-56 For timeline perspective, the 124th last season was the game *before* Tucker returned vs Seattle after being sick the first 2 games. Dusty DNP'd him next day. Astros are obviously in a much better divisional position, and it's mostly due to Arlington not all having career seasons and Julio/Crawford each falling off 150 OPS points.
Would you accept this from Singleton? .260 BA .344 OBP .747 OPS That sounds like what we are looking for out of 1B at this point? That's his split vs RH pitching. So he should be in the lineup vs every right handed starter.
For anyone interested, it appears the Space City Home Network (Astros/Rockets broadcast channel) is now airing "The A-Team" live every day along with 790am. Hopefully they add some visuals (videos/graphics) -- right?... because it's TV !! Eta: Graphics ✔
I've watched the Yordan play at the plate several times. I would leave whatever the call was in the field stand. I can't see where it's beyond obvious he was safe, that's simply not true. He was called out initially?
Thanks, that is really surprising. For most of this season, it has been rather disappointing. But things have picked up as of late.
Still no Bregman in today's lineup. Anyone have any updates? Amazing how resilient we have been with so many of our key pieces missing. Still don't like Alvarez in 2 hole. Just keep finding a way to win. At least they are giving Big Jon his job back at first base at least for a day.
