Dang, these guys have Pierce cut from their rosters. I would put him at RB3/RB4 at least.....and maybe have him help out on ST. I wouldn't give up on him this quick....
We won’t get much in return for Pierce but at least we may be able to facilitate him getting to team where he fits better. Otherwise, just let him go, he’s beyond repair in our scheme.
I love DP the dude, but as a player he has not shown the promise of his hard work over the off season, everyone keeps saying it's a scheme thing but I dont know, you can either run the rock or you cant. I would love to see him on ST but if we keep an extra WR its going to be tough to keep him.......I think Metchie is on the bubble also, do you roll the dice after 1 good game
I dont know man, I guess it could be the scheme but dam he dropped off a cliff OR he got really lucky his rookie year.........I am not sure he makes the cut
Where has Noah Brown disappeared to? I love what he brings on the field but his lack of availability is very troubling.
Culture. Mentorship. Leadership. It’s good to have players who believe in your coach in leadership/coaching positions.
Or maybe another year of not a lot of guaranteed money, so if he gets cut next year, they can absorb that dead money with no problem.
If the Texans keep 4 RBs, I cant see Taylor, Jordan, or Brooks making the 53. I feel like these are guys that can be easily stashed on the Practice squad without fear of another team grabbing them. My gut tells me they may give DP more time - whether it's the right or wrong decision. Noah to the IR? Hoping to see another team cut a LB that may be worth a look. Our depth there is weak.
Fun fact (I learned last year): just because another team tries to sign a player off of your practice squad, they do not have to go / sign with the other team. But if they do sign (more $$$) and they have to sign to their roster (not their PS)
I think it was Stoots or Payne who recently said that the Texans might do that with Keenum. He may be in a good place in his career to stay around the team but not take a roster spot...
