If Case and the Texans can figure out how to take advantage of the new Emergency QB rules which permit a Practice squad member to be the emergency QB without being added to the 53 man and transition Case into a coaching role, would you do it to keep another player? I just don't know how to manipulate the rules to get this done and I actually don't know if Case is as interested in coaching as I am in him remaining as a Coach in 2025.
Will be interesting to see. He seems like the type of fella that would go into coaching. But it used to be your best coaches were typically guys that weren’t elite players. However guys like DeMeco Ryans who was a pro-bowler in his play days is proving to be one heck of a coach. Case made a long career being a steady QB and player . I would think if he wanted to go into coaching, he will have a plethora of opportunities.
They need to bring Diggs and Keenum back for one more season. We need to see one last pass and catch between this historic duo.
I was really bummed when Case left. I know he had virtually nothing left in the tank as far as on the field, but I had a very strong feeling he was an intangible piece of what propelled CJ and the Texans forward the last couple of years. The Athletic seems to validate that. Case Keenum, at 37 and on eighth NFL team, is giving Bears exactly what they needed https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/67...eb-williams-bears/?source=user_shared_article
