The Astros front office/coaching staff/decision science people went out there and fully disrespected the White Sox organization….. (Meanwhile the Yankees went full effort against the White Sox… )
Nah, an 11 game winning streak is like a one-night stand with a DDD girl. Wouldn't know what to do with it.
Yes, when you are slumping there isn’t much good going on. It’s obviously more than a BABIP issue. It looks to be mechanical and now maybe mental. It’s not good. Still, 200 at bats with a significant injury and sporadic playing time is a valid recipe for this kinda thing. Chas just waking up one day at 29 and sucking at baseball probably a little less likely to be the reason. Have players fallen off a cliff before? Absolutely. Were they given more than 200 at bats wrapped around an injury to prove otherwise? I bet in most cases, yes. Can’t close the book this early on Chas.
- Astros maintain their 4-game division lead - Framber continues his surge - Rocks and Mighty Mouse go deep - Hader extends franchise record for consecutive saves (27) - season-high 11 games above 500 (-12 was the season-low) .
Nobody’s closing the book… but at some point you should understand why it’s though to play a sub .200 player in the midst of trying to get back into the race. He’s going to get plenty more opportunities this year (especially now that they actually have a 5 game cushion), but its a little “head in the sand” of you to say this is all just “injury rust”. And full honesty… the injury was so long ago, I’m not sure either you or I remember exactly what it was. (Lower extremity? Which leg?). Also, if I recall, he did come back after a minimal stint on the IL… this wasn’t something that had set backs or required a complex rehab program.
Things that stand out as of late. -Framber really pitching well. Verlander/Valdez/Brown could win us a WS if they are healthy. -Hader…. Money well spent. -Should've acquired a bat.
Framber last 10 starts 8-0 64 IP 75 Ks 2.39 ERA Between him and Brown, that's gonna be quite the 1-2 punch in the playoffs. Oh and we have someone by the name of Verlander that knows a thing or two about winning in the post season. Blanco says hi.
