Was hoping to see Leon in CF to give Jake a day off.

At this point last season his OPS was lower than it currently is this season. For whatever reason he starts slow, this season seems to be no different.

He has (possibly intentionally) hit for more power and taken less walks. He's not swinging and missing any more than usual, and his SLG% will be the highest it's been since the juiced ball years if he finishes as strong as normal.

It’s not the 10 years it’s the payroll flexibility. I’d rather do 10/200 than 5/150 is all I’m saying. Alex might too.

No he won't, he's just back to his natural position. A bench player with spot starts here and there, and pinch hitter when needed.

Sure it is from Bergman’s perspective. When you are signing a free agent deal at 31 you are looking at least as much at the total number as you are at the yearly rate. If his best offer is 5/150 (which I think it could be) then he’d have to get 50M more in FA as a 36 year old. Does that really seem like a layup to you?
crane can talk all he wants about length of the deal that’s not what’s going on I can promise you- it’s total dollars committed he’s shy away from.
If Yordan would sign a deal where he got $1M a year for 500 years crane would be happy to do it over a 5/200m. That’s just time value of money and luxury tax payroll considerations.

If yall think there is an option that could potentially be better for the rest of the year than Chas, yall are nuts

The comp to Bregman is what Matt Chapman ended up having to settle for.

Maybe he gets a little bump because he’s been playing high profile games his entire career… but how much does that really add to free agent deals these days?

Spotrac actually has a crazy low "market value" for jim:

    4 yrs/$90.448770 (22.612290 AAV)

part of the reason is they used Josh Bell as one of his comps, lol.
