What's even more ridiculous about Trump's lies and fear mongering is the fact that homicides increased by 30% from 2019 to 2020, the largest single-year increase since 1960.

Yeah, that was when Trump was in charge.

They won't even accept the truth about Trump when you tell them he's lying.

One aspect of "law and order" style fascist propaganda is that you can in perpetuity spam your news publication, social media feed etc with individual violent crime incidents like this forever regardless of whether it's a systemic problem or not to put fear in people.

No matter how secure the border is one, could spam these type of anecdotes because 300+ million humans exist in this country.

Enough to show statistical evidence that there is a rise in violent crime due to said policies.

Again, answer this question given the population of 300+ million humans in the USA.... Will there ever be a period of time no matter how well society is run that a fascist can't spam anecdotes of violent crime to spread a narrative regardless of how safe the country is overall?

It's very simple. If one can spam anecdotes of violent crime regardless of how safe the country is, then it should be considered an irrelevant way to express conditions in a country.

 

Also I want to add when anecdotes are useful.


If there is statistical evidence of a trend, an anecdote of that trend can be used to express an emotional plea to solve ending said trend.

That is when anecdotes are useful... A tool to provide emotional weight to a statisical trend you feel is bad and needs to be reversed.
