Gotta invade some South American country to turn it into a resource extraction center with locals as the cheap labor and hope some Marxist revolution doesn't pop out of that exploitation. Or else we gotta find another Pinochet to put them in their place.

Maybe we have different social groups? IDK, but we would probably get along well in person.

My experience is that most of the the males I know that are democrat or not into politics are okay with Harris but not as excited.

However, the women are the opposite - they are very excited about her..... including several that in the past have not voted. Harris seems to appeal to a lot of women regardless of race or orgin.

To echo @Nook you must have different “Democrat friends”. Definitely you don’t have the cult like support of MAGA but folks seem much more enthusiastic with Kamala than Biden.

    Pretty much polling supports this.

I don't know for sure how Harris will actually be if she is elected President, because she isn't really a "true believer". She will do what will make her popular IMO. I don't agree with a lot of the policies of the far left of the democratic party. I am more concerned with poor people, opportunities and protections for the poor, working class and the ability for people to move up socially. A lot of the other stuff to me is a distraction - which is something that both parties have decided deserves the most attention.

Not necessarily, there are a lot of people - especially women and minorities that are excited about Harris.

Also, being pro-choice, wanting pre-kindergarten mandatory as an option for working parents, reversing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act are not far left ideology.

There are a number of things that Harris supports that are not viewed as extreme.

Voting is almost always an emotional thing - many Trump supporters, like Harris supporters will vote for the candidate that they have an emotional connection with.

Says who? While those are very important, so are a number of other issues - including civil rights.

They don't either - you just have lived a very different life and a very different perspective than a lot of Americans - including women and minorities.[/QUOTE]

Political ideology does come from life experience. I don't disagree.

Economy and Foreign Policy though has to do with human safety/security.

What else is more important? Human psychology is run off those two items. Its how people choose life partners, why they carry weapons, it can go on and on....

Harris is none of those. She has no conviction on anything and will say anything to move up in rank. Most politicians do have lines and few are hardliners like Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders.

You appear to be looking for an obtuse circlejerk. May I suggest one of our many fine ATW threads?

I didn't even know the Democrat party has a far left. Did the Overton window shift without me knowing?

There are modern Western democracies that have literal self labeled Marxist parties. To say America has a far left wing in a major political party is kinda absurd.

Which means she will express center left to center right positions as that is the Overton window of acceptable discourse that can allow to be a major political candidate in our two party system.

You are right for once in that she isn't some ideological thought leader.
