JD Vance & Peter Thiel, An
    Ideological Love Story

If anyone has about 50 minutes to spare, it's a good background of Vance's odd ideological history in a manner I haven't seen covered in this depth.

I think that pretty much covers all the female voting age ranges.

The childless cat ladies of America may have a new ally against Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) after newly resurfaced audio from a 2020 podcast revealed him agreeing with a host who declared that “the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female” was to help raise children.

Is he even a lock for his next Senate term?

If red dead Ted Cruz can stick around then whatever but Ohio seems more open for change.

ETA: Looks like his seat isn't up until 2028. Seat from his first term isn't even warm. The man is far more ambitious than Kamala was.

Leaned hard with the maga but there's no way republicans will carry without maga-deplorable bloc.

R leadership could try to pivot if Trump implodes but cleaning up that mess is worse than a public Starbucks bathroom in soma SF.

That's just creepy. These two dudes talking about women like broodmares.

Eric Weinstein gives off so much molestation vibes. Dude definitely made at least one woman he's encountered feel like they've been violated.

70+% of Americans saw Palin as favorable at a point in time?

Dear Lord. No wonder why we got Trump in 2016.

I’m listening to Vance’s interview on MTP and apparently he learned twisting the truth and not taking responsibility for one’s own words is what he learned in the Marines.

She was very refreshing and charismatic for about 5 minutes. She spoke well in front of the camera and had charisma and confidence that traditional politicians did not have, especially when compared to John McCain. The problem was that she was a grifter with lots of skeletons in the closet, and back when she was the VP nominee, Americans still cared about some degree of substance.

John McCain also got to know her better and mothballed her, embarrassed that he let his advisers talk him into her as his VP candidate.

Possible. All I know is that he didn't learn how to order donuts in the marines.

Charisma is a weird thing. I just can't see charisma with her. People call Trump charismatic also and I don't see it but people have different tastes in what constitutes charisma?

Charisma is an odd thing, and there are certainly some differences of opinion. In the case of Trump and Palin, they both were very comfortable speaking their mind and did not seem restrained. On one hand that is dangerous, but on the other hand people like being around or listening to confident people and people comfortable with who they are.

In the case of Trump - some of it is cultural as well. This country is used to leadership being wealthy, authoritative white men. Even those that recognize that, and do not think that it is fair - can be influenced by it because it is what we have seen our whole lives. It caused problems for minority male candidates for a long time, and mostly at this point has influenced females running for the highest offices.... it is the same reason that people liked Archie Bunker - he was racist, he was ignorant - but he was someone that many people found relatable, like older male relatives or authority figures.

Trump could not do what he is doing as a minority - but he can as a white male- and I say that as a white male in America in 2024. It is just the reality we live in/
