A right to a fair trial is of course foundational. If you can be locked away without proof, it is the opposite of liberty. In terms of a surveillance state, I would say it depends upon particulars. Having cameras that observe public places is fine to me (being in public means being observable by the public). The agencies that feed cases to my office use a combination of traffic cameras and license plate readers to reasonably good effect in some cases to track vehicles. In one shooting case, they were able to track two vehicles approaching the scene of the robbery, leaving the scene, and then approaching two local hospitals where the suspects were admitted with gunshot wounds (the intended victim had shot them in self-defense). Is that anti-liberty? I don't believe so. Using AI to analyze the recordings from those cameras is probably also fine, it is just going to be helping to select videos for human review anyway. Now, using the surveillance state to tap into people's phone calls, or spy on people through their webcams, or hack into people's communications, obviously a different story. There is a vast and critically important difference between using technology to enhance what you can gather from what has already been exposed to public view and using technology to delve into what has been kept private.

Nothing a little gumption and the ideology of a 15-year-old can't solve.

If you think that's some kind of ownage, you will realize that it is only a self-ownage - because that is the result of years of leftist cleptocracy BEFORE Milei.

But I was told that libertarianism was a childish fantasy that would never work in practice and blah blah blah about orcs.

He's right. Obviously, it's the combination entrepreneurs+employees. Best government can do is avoid meddling, and staying the **** out of the way.

I am not surprised Milei is having such success.

I am a little surprised it came so quickly. Figured there would be a fairly dark period before the worm turned.
