It was a shrewd move to push him away. Although he won the primaries, he would have never drawn a crowd like this.
It was an American coup, a historical one. It involved more than 50% of Republicans, 80% of Independents, and 90% of Democrat. They did very well.
Yup that's the real reason why Trump proposed this. Same deal as his tax cuts- toss some scraps/bones to the middle/lower class, while his billionaire friends feast on steak. It works because simple minds that don't know any better take the bait without realizing they're getting fleeced. I'll wait until more details come out, but I suspect Harris' version will close the loopholes to hedgefund managers who will say their "fees" are "tips". It wouldn't be that hard to close those loopholes through language in the legislation.
LOL. Uncle Joe giving me the "I want him to know it was me" vibes. As much as you guys want to call it a coup, who in this day in age is a politician going to give up power because he was being pressured? Certainly not Trump. Joe could've stayed in if he wanted but he saw the writing on the wall. One day, I hope they make a Ben and Jerry flavored ice cream called "Dark Brandon." I hope he enjoys retirement next year, he deserves it.
And yet it still flipped. Democrats could have the most pro business and anti-government policies and the poll typically would be the same. This is a vibes poll not a reality poll.
Unlike Trump, Harris didn't propose a 10%/60% tariffs on foreign/Chinese goods. This will result in 20%/80% increases in prices for the same goods you buy today. Isolationist economic policies don't work. Domestic businesses still need to import parts/raw materials from other countries. Prices for everything will go up (foreign or "domestic"). I'm sure you're old enough and well-traveled enough to know that tariffs results in retaliation from other countries (trade wars). There will be rampant inflation and domestic businesses will also suffer. Rampant inflation + negative GDP growth = major recession/depression So yes, anything Harris has said or not said is better than what Trump said.
Not "yet" - because. If people were educated and "woke" enough to understand the consequences of what her "everyone should end in the same place" and "there should be reparations" actually means and how catastrophic socialism has been, she would have much less support.
Also true that she's done as many tough interviews as Vance voted 'yes' on: Granting access to veteran services for rural veterans. Granting assistance to Homeless veterans Healthcare for women veterans Support for veteran caregivers Childcare for veterans with children.
She's still a hard person to pin after all these years. Rabid Progressive or a consensus taker? What does the polling say?
U.S. economic performance by presidential party - Wikipedia The following table compares selected results for the Democratic and Republican presidents, using the Blinder & Watson data (typically Truman's elected term through Obama's first term). The abbreviation "pp" means percentage points. The p-value is the probability that the observed difference would occur if it were due to chance.[1] P-values typically considered statistically significant are those equal to or less than .1, .05, or .01, with each of these numbers representing a different level of significance and lower being more significant.[30]
This is by design. Help the wealthy out with tax breaks. When the stock market/property values inevitably crash- it's really an opportunity to buy up assets at a discount (buying at the dip). Rinse and repeat. That's what happened during and after the 2008 recessiom. That's what will happen at the next major recession. The wealthy don't mind a recession because they can weather the storm in the short-term, and it provides amazing investment opportunities long-term.
Right. If they work at a nice restaurant they benefit from our ridiculous system. But the policy is really just dumb BS aimed at enticing low engagement voters into falling for something that's really about benefiting wealthy people.
