Been an up and down rookie season but Arrighetti is really finding it. Dude looks like a potential frontline guy right now, he has plenty of swing and miss stuff.
True. Change has worked nicely but it seems on righties computer says no on that. But great composure after both dingers. Do not put him back there. Let him enjoy this confidence builder and BP got this.
13K’s, on the road, against one of the hotter lineups in baseball full of lefties. This is one of the most impressive Astros pitching performances PERIOD over the last 2-3 years, let alone by a rookie.
the only reason it's up and down because offense barely score more than 3 runs whenever he pitches. so his record looks worse than it should. the past 5 starts before today, offense score ridiculously low.
I know plenty of you have ragged on Arrighetti (and i don't get it), but this is his 22nd start and this is his breakdown: 11 good to excellent starts 5 middle of the road starts 5 poor/terrible starts 1 short start (3 IP, 1 R) You'll easily take 17 of 22 starts in which he's either given us a good chance to win or at least kept us in the game.
i don't think Espada will bring him back out. If it was still a no-hitter, maybe. they'll go with Abreu then Hader unless astros score a few more runs.
Development of Brown, Blanco, and Arrighetti this season has been huge. If Javier comes back healthy next season that’s a really good controllable quartet.
He has an ERA over 5, negative WAR on the season and had 2 starts where he gave up over 7 runs in fewer than 3 innings. He’s definitely pitching much much better, but his up and down season has nothing to do with run support. He’s been really bad at times and he’s a rookie so that’s somewhat expected.
