Rockets fans of all people should know how refs can dictate your game plan. When they drive inside they didn't get any whistles so they started shooting more threes France got phantom fouls on Bam, and random technicals on AD. But also every 50/50 out of bounds call went to France even though replayed showed multiples times it went off Gobert face.

No one is hating on Steph. We all know he's the best shooter of all time. When he's on like the last two games his team is unbeatable. But just like any other star you need help to win. Because he was awful in the early rounds. Players are getting much better everyone needs help. That's the saddest part about Harden is we could never get him the help to win. Or the help we got could never make it through the season healthy. Just like you are asking people to appreciate Steph's greatness you shoulda also appreciate Hardens greatness.
he adapted good, but team usa was still playing againist much inferior talent and none of these games should have been close. The biggest difference how fiba refs call the game the right way nando de colo, and evan fournier are nba rejects for the most part.. we had tyrese haliburton and supastah "antman".. why they look average under different rules
how can world catch up to a team that is loaded from top to bottom with all-nba players the world didnt catch up, the nba product and their talent got worse if the world caught up then why did a "choker" like james harden as a captain lead team usa to gold in 2014.. the games were not close, and team usa weas still playing againist the same level of talent in the nba these guys are overpraised and players like ant and tatum get exposed because differently the game is called embiid being on this team should have this team unbeatable but they struggled severly againist much weaker teams
Did you even watch the games? In today's NBA if a team gets hot from three how do you expect to blow them out. Original dream team had the luxury of playing teams who didn't shoot 35 threes again. Serbia and South Sudan were unconscious from three in those games. 3 point shot is the great equalizer when you don't have the talent. Teams are hitting bank threes on the US. Ridiculous shots. When things like that go in that's what happens. We played both those teams twice and blew them out the other time. The only difference is one game they were just on fire the other they just shot average. Teams shooting like that would blow out the original dream team, cuz they didn't have the firepower from three to match it. You can't beat threes with twos. That's why now a days teams shooting most threes end up winning the finals. This team has the greatest shooters and can play that style with anyone.
the fact that these refs in fiba were somehow able to do their jobs without bias can have this much of an effect on a talented team like usa barely cracking 100.. and keep in mind the 3-point line is closer than the nba 3 harden is a choker with nba refs but somehow is the best player for the 2014 team usa with fiba refs
outside of wemby( who is technically still in rookie szn) and gobert( who is useless in fiba) how were these games close its not adding up i saw how in 2004 and 2006 lebum as captain embarrased team usa and they had to recruit kobe bryant listen man the media was saying the world caught up back in 2006 too.or have you forgotten, thats why the team usa of 2008 was called the "redeem team" because we had to redeem ourselves after lebum embarassed us in fact lebron would probably be a boris diaw in fiba i think, he cant shoot anything outside of dunking in the paint
its not about hating on steph, the issue is none of these games should have been close.. given the all-nba talent on this team.. the casual media says that harden would struggle in FIBA because FIBA refs wont call any bs calls for him. When in fact Harden was top 6 in the entire tournament in free-throw attempts.. So the only difference for why harden was amazing in the 2014 world cup tournament ein is because FIBA refs are not cheating or choosing when to call fouls like nba refs do
the teams usa were playing were not great talent wise... i mean like how are you gonna argue this why did our young nba players like antman and tatum look like crap in FIBA.. the difference is the refs, nobody will admit that tho
Ant didn't look bad in FIBA. He was amazing even last year. If a team is going to shoot 50-60% from three in 40 minute game. How are you gonna blow them out. Not like it was bad defense. They made tough shots. It happens in basketball. Do you not understand math? the big difference is style of play. Americans teach too much one on one. Europeans play team ball that's much harder to defend. We need to change this AAU nonsense, and teach more fundamentals
