i've never been involved in ANY jalen bashing that wasn't basketball related, i just couldn't care less about that stuff. The only player i dislike is brooks, because he's a dirty piece of garbage so i won't root for him but the rest i'm good with
I can respect that. Tbh my Dad feels the same way about him, and laughed his ass off when he got booed to death at the Olympics.
... welcome to following basketball, keep it up and one of these days you should be able to answer those really obvious questions.
That’s not a factual statement. What is factual is there is a rotation of 7-9 players every game. To lay the blame on one player while absolving others is biased. That’s what a team concept is fundamentally based on. It’s not one player that hurts the team it’s a collective group that wins or loses a game. Cam couldn’t shoot 3s for 20 plus games. Amen can’t shoot beyond 8 ft. Sengun fouls a lot and can’t defend bigs with a good low post game. Dillon Brooks isn’t good at dribble drives or finishing in the paint. Winning and losing is a team concept. Clearly you don’t understand this. You would suck as a teammate. What’s your definition or concept of a sports team by the way?
Much like Beverly, Rodman, Artest Brooks is a guy most love when he’s on their team but hated if he’s an opponent. I didn’t like him as a Grizzly especially when he intentionally stuck his leg out right in front of Christian Wood on a fast break play couple years ago causing Wood to side step on Brook’s foot and reinjuring his ankle. But I love him now as a Rocket lol since he sticks up for us.
Would you root for draymond if he was a rocket? i can tell you, i wouldn't watch a single game nor would i root for the team till he was gone. If brooks was good (ala cp3) though maybe my view would be different lol
Don't put that bad juju into the universe. None of us need to deal with a moral dilemma of that magnitude.
You can tell by watching the game and looking at the metrics to confirm who is playing well and who is not. I don't want to get in the way of you attacking that straw man... but no one said everything was one players "fault"... we're just stating facts about who played well and who didn't. When a player has a poor TS% and a high volume of shots, that player is hurting their team. There's things players can do to try and mitigate the amount of harm they are doing, but those are things your guy can't really do. Amen is an elite defensive player who sticks to what he can do well so the fact that he can't shoot doesn't end up hurting the team overall... Jalen can't shoot either... but he shoots constantly and is a liability on defense. That's the issue.
You clearly stated that Amen doesn’t hurt the team and you defined it by shooting. I clearly explained to you that your statement is not factual since “hurting the team” isn’t solely defined by 3 pt shooting and Amen’s limitations not being able to stretch defenses can also be seen as “hurting the team”. So to say Green “hurts the team” is laying the blame on one player while absolving the other by using a singular action (3 pt shooting). You said nothing about defense initially btw. But now we are on that can you explain to me how he is a “liability” on defense since you “watch” the games?
I thought what I said was self explanatory.... Amen can't shoot.... but he doesn't take shots he can't make so his TS% stays decent and so he's not hurting the team. Jalen can't shoot, but he chucks more shots than anyone and it hurts the team. If you want to check it, look at their on off splits... Jalen's is negative, Amen's is positive.
Again that’s your definition of what “hurting the team” means and not necessarily factual. I clearly stated that it’s a team game which you still don’t understand. Once again it’s Your opinion only.
I hate him on the Rockets and know Grizzlies fans absolutely hated him on their team too. Dennis Rodman career 5.8 FGA. Beverley career 7.0 FGA. Dillon Brooks career 12.7 FGA. I don't even care about any of the attitude and enforcer stuff I just hate these wannabe Kobe types who can't recognize that they have no offensive talent and destroy the offensive flow with their horrible shot selection.
Interesting rankings. I agree with the top 10 except switch Green with Reaves. What y’all think? https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-ranking-top-30-shooting-guards-2024-25-season/
Yes, "my definition" of hurting the team is when a player takes actions that cause the team to score fewer points while allowing the other team to score more points. I'm not sure what definition you use, but I'm pretty sure most people who actually follow basketball use mine. If you don't understand the very basic concept that individual players can do things to either harm or help the overall team with their individual actions, there's no way you EVER played any team sport or even engaged in any team activity in your life. This is day 1 ****. Now, if you do actually understand these basic concepts, perhaps take a step back and look at what desperately trying to advocate for Jalen Green has done to you....what really stupid takes it has caused you to champion.
