The issue here ins’t criticism of Green by some of these people. Both supporters and some of those that criticize him have been fair in their assessments or opinions. But to those that say ridiculous things such as “he sucks” or “terrible” while not having much knowledge of what right looks like to support their assertion shows their ignorance. And to constantly spew negative, demeaning, and highly critical comments without any positive ones show hate and bias.
Why not, everybody else is over the moon with Amen shooting 13.8% from 3, somebody who's supposed to be the future PG. For reference, that's the most "generational" thing about Amen, he's a generationally terrible shooter for a guard position. Like seriously, one of the worst ever.
... and yet he didn't let his shortcomings hurt the team and finished his rookie season with a better TS% than the starting SG could ever dream of. The fact that you crazy cultists attack every player on the Rockets who is better than your boyfriend is why no one should put up with you guys at all.
Which is what we all want. The kicker for me is, which other player on the team has ever played at those heights for that length of time? Literally none. Hardly what I'd call a bust compared to the people who haven't sniffed those heights in their wildest dreams...Is "consistency" really that great when you're consistently mediocre? A conundrum for the ages...
You gotta be able to read the room and know your audience! The Texan board has been a wasteland for so long that most of us there grew together with the shared dejection. Here we are coming out of what is the first rebuild for this team since before Harden and the frustrations from subjective expectations broke the community into factions. There is no good will and instead this will be guerilla warfare until either Jalen is traded or reaches the lofty heights all of us had for him. Even then the collateral damage and detritus that is left over after all the receipts get pulled either way will probably leave this place splintered for as long as Dave keeps the site running. Fun isnt it!
ya i think the convo with you and dizzle is the most entertaining one i've seen on this site in a loooooooong time, it's just hilarious how you're basically 2 different people
This is why looking at metrics alone is ignorant. You realize 68% of his shots are less than 5 ft right?
So what? You missed the point, despite his inability to shoot, he managed to not hurt the team. Jalen also can't shoot, but that doesn't stop him from chucking up shot after shot, hurting the team.
That’s your opinion and not necessarily true. To say a player hurts the team would require a very in depth analysis which you haven’t done.
Dont think I havent noticed you straddling the fence. It takes EXTRA energy to not fall towards either side. Kudos.
That’s the core to this issue. Whatever these critics or haters are seeing makes then think Green isn’t “good”. They give Other players such as Fox, Luka, Morant a pass at poor 3pt % in their first few seasons since these people think they do more than Green. But again these people need to objectively look at Green’s offense. His ability to get to the paint and score or get a foul is up there with the best players on the league. His 2 pt% is better or up there compared with some stars in their first 3 years. He can make plays off the dribble drive and can open up the offense for others.
I will admit that a part of my love for basketball died on that fateful day in 2018 when scott foster did what he did. I don’t really get emotional about it the way i do with the Astros for example. I hope someday that love comes back but it’s why i don’t get crazy in either direction.
That's not really opinion though, the statement is that he maintained a high TS% despite not being able to shoot by not forcing what he was bad at and only doing what he was capable of doing. The team was better overall when Amen was on the court than when he was off the court.
Again that’s not a complete assessment. How do you prove or disprove who is hurting the team? Especially when there’s 6-8 other guys playing every night. Is Amen not being able to shoot anything beyond 8 ft hurting the team? It’s all subjective with nothing to back really. The key to this is it’s a team game. Would you blame it all on one player if you were on the team? I would imagine few people would want you as a teammate since you are not supportive and unfairly judge. Who’s to say Cam didn’t hurt the team shooting a low % in 3s in his last 20 plus games? All relative dude.
I think we can all agree - regardless of which players we love - that Scott Foster can go **** himself sideways with a rusty chainsaw. That's the thing people don't get, I'm a Rockets fan above anything else. Sure, I'll defend my guys like crazy, but I'm not the one throwing member's names around whilst I'm crying in threads. And they call Jalen "feminine" lmao.
