Getting back to Markkanen, if I'm the Jazz, I try to make a run at Ingram in a package centered around Kessler. The Pelicans desperately need a center, and Ingram would give the Jazz a solid 1-2 scoring punch. They'd also still have a lot of future assets, and young prospects in Williams, Hendricks, George, etc. Sure, Markkanen and Ingram are going to miss some games, and their defense will suck, but they kind of made their bed when they extended Markkanen. I think he'll keep them from being able to truly tank, so might as well try and trade for a second piece.

The reason every thread becomes a Jalen discussion is because any time he comes up, the weirdos in his cult go crazy.

Take this thread for example, it's about Lauri Markkanen... but it became a Jalen thread because a few people at the beginning of the thread floated Jalen in trade for him... I wasn't one of them BTW.

The suggestion that Jalen might be traded triggered the Jalen fanbois and they had a tantrum about it.... things went off the rails from there.

You really end up with a no win scenario, either you counter the propaganda of the Jalen cult... which leads to board chaos, or you just let them run wild which enables them by making them feel as if they have support for their insanity.... leading to them being even more unhinged in the future.

I suppose the good news is that this should all solve itself within 6 months. Either Jalen is going to play well, which would make everyone happy, or he'll continue to play poorly and likely be off the Rockets entirely which hopefully silences or eliminates the Jalen cult altogether.

We just need to make it 6 more months to get to relative calm.

More like, you show up to board the plane and there is no plane. Meanwhile, crowds of folks keep showing up with their baggage and take to arguing amongst themselves where the non-existent plane should be landing.

Mongolia is a real place whether you like to go there or not. Siberia is just a mythical location Russian thugs who are in power use for scaring innocent people.

Fun fact: I have been to Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar to be precise... DO NOT drink the yak milk) & through Siberia (near Lake Baikal). That lake - in summer - gave me the heebie jeebies.

If these people you speak of are part of “the Jalen cult” then you’re the president of the “Jalen Hater Cult”. Also you forgot your girl @RudyTBag who implemented Green into a conversation that did not warrant it.

The idea that someone is a "hater" simply because they speak the truth about the false idol of a cult of simpletons is fairly absurd.

No its the fact you never have one positive thing to say about the man shows your hand. Not one positive thing. I asked you directly a while ago what positives do you see in his game and the only thing you said was “he is athletic”. That’s not an assessment of his game. That’s commenting on his physical attributes. This is what makes you a hater.

What does right look like? And I am not talking about TS% or any metric you dig up arbitrarily. Simple. What does right look like in terms of on court play?

Why would I have positive things to say about bad players?
I didn't have positive things to say about Westbrook or Nix when they were here either... does that make me a Daishen Nix hater?

Yes it does since it’s not objective. I asked you a direct question about his game and you had nothing to say. It is not factual either especially when you constantly use adjectives such as “terrible” or “sucks” or phrases like “he’s not a good player” without showing us what right looks like in terms of his on court performance on the basis of basketball principles. So it’s a matter of opinion backed by a few arbitrary metrics and not analysis backed with strong evidence and knowledge of the game. Add in you mocking him for what you perceive to be his lack of masculinity and your consistent daily negative and unsupportive comments then yes it’s hate. It’s negative. You have been hateful and negative to this one particular player. No one knows why you do it. But you do it.

Isn't using data/numbers MORE objective than anything else? Yes, to those who don't believe in that stuff it will mean nothing but it's still the only truly objective way to look at things? I personally couldn't care less who he dates, how many kids he has, his nails, or any of that nonsense but you know who cares even less? numbers.

When I say he sucks, I back it up with the metrics that show he sucks.... then you cry about it and say that metrics don't matter or that they are arbitrary....

You simply can't accept the fact that your guy is bad at basketball.

When I said the same things about other players using the same metrics, you don't cry... but when I say them about Jalen you cry.... so what does that say is really going on hero?

No since metrics aren’t completely reliable and only paint part of the picture. Metrics can help support or add to what we see or observe but several metrics are not complete or flawed. I’ve written about this before as metrics like per 36, TS% etc do not take into account other variables. Observation must be done with knowledge of the game and its principles. This can be supported by stats and metrics and other items such as substantiated news reports. Besides people on here don’t look at all the metrics or stats but instead look at arbitrary ones. It’s fine if you don’t think a player is an efficient shooter but to say a player is “terrible” begs more information and a deeper analysis. Otherwise its just opinion. End of the day you have to know what you’re watching. If not then the analysis is flawed and useless especially ones based on arbitrary metrics.
