I have us at 45 so this seems close enough that I wouldn't take the swing on putting down money, even if I did bet on sports (which isn't worth the wife aggro for me). 50 wins just seems unlikely to me. Not impossible, but either we'd have to be fully healthy with all or nearly all of the young guys taking small steps forward, or ditto about the health with one starter instead making a major leap, like up a couple of tiers. That's a lot of good fortune to count on. Realistically, some of the young guys will get better (hopefully the majority), but some will tread water or even take a small step backward. And most likely there will be injuries. That's just the way it goes in the NBA. On the balance, we'll probably improve, but another huge jump in win total isn't something I'd count on. Getting from around .500 to contender status is the hardest part of any rebuild.
They had finally started becoming Imes team and had rid themselves of the Silas style. I wouldn't rule out a 50+ game season.
The fact is that so many teams won’t play as as hard as us over the whole season and given our talent and our maturation, we’re gonna **** some mother****ers up. 50+
Love the optimism. And I agree! I'll be taking the over. I think they probably end up somewhere in the upper 40s if they can stay healthy. They are young and trending upward. I see no reason why that shouldn't continue.
I think we would need to add an incredible talent to hit 50 in the West. Only the Thunder, Nuggets, Timberwolves, Clippers and Mavs did that last season. I could see the Clippers taking a few steps backwards. I could see the Nuggets winning a few games less with the addition of Westbrook. But I also think the Grizzlies will be back in the mix this season. I think the Mavs might be better. I think the Kings got better. I don't think the Pelicans got worse - but we'll see how the Ingram trade ends up going. That could make them better or worse depending on the package. I actually think the assortment of guys the Warriors added was, at the least, a wash with Klay. I think the Clippers, Warriors, and Lakers just have to have disastrous injury packed seasons for that kind of improvement to be possible. And a few of our young guys would need to take big leaps forward. I just don't even know who might shake loose that we could/would target in the trade market. I'd love to see them win that many, and they certainly won a lot more than I expected last season, but I'm just struggling to see it in the West. I could definitely see it if we were in the East.
Yes definitely post gambling odds in the locker room for players to think about. - Johntay Porter's lawyer
During the Harden era, the team oscillated between hitting their over and hitting their under every year. Only 3 more wins sounds like easy money, and I'm sure the line will rise because of it, but all it takes is one ankle sprain and that's it for your bet.
Seems like a fair line, the west is just so hard this year they basically have a whole bunch of teams in the mid 40s from the 5th seed to 12th seed, obviously some teams will end up ravaged by injury / implode for various reasons but for such lines it's harder to take into account
I think this number would represent our win total, if our young guys play exactly the same as they did last season. We should add a couple of wins just by more familiartiy with the system and Udokas style and by the better depth by adding Adams and Sheppard (and to an extent Cam, who didn‘t really play for the first half of the season). That being said, there are 6 young players who each should get better this season than they were last season - how much better will determine, with how many wins we end up. I would expect us to flirt with 50 wins this season.
That's a good total from Vegas. Just individually looking at the quality of the team I think we could go over but the West is really stacked and a single injury could cause us to miss out. Would be a scary bet.
I think it's over tbh. With Jalen and Sengun continuing to emerge, Sheppard seems like a clear upgrade over Holiday, Adams is a solid backup to Alpi (and though I like Landale I rate Adams higher) and a returning Tari I think we'll have a clear improvement in wins next season. 43 puts us pretty much where we were last year.
