I wonder if there are any MAGA vets who are turned off by this and would actually speak out, or will they all sell out a fellow veteran who served 24 years and fought to improve the lives of veterans while in Congress because he’s not a Trumper?

Good question. But most humans will do and believe whatever keeps them in alignment with their closest bonded family and friends.

    Not a hole, they're throwing Harris/Walz an alley-hoop.

The more they dig, the more they'll see the voting records of both and who voted consistently for veterans benefits while the other didn't. I'll let you guess which one was which

Can't wait for the VP debate. Vance has backed himself into corner. :p

I really hope JD Vance brings up stolen valor and all this other garbage during a debate…Walz will easily hit him with

yup…we’re not doing that bullsh*t Fox News debate rigged completely in his favor

1st debate Sept 10, and after that thrashing, we can talk business again about another beatdown

I think as long as video doesn't surface of him claiming to be in a war, most maggots don't care. Sure, there are some dumb loud ones that get press, but most don't care unless actual stolen valor is involved.

Most don’t care that one of their fellow vets is being attacked by the GOP and is getting falsely accused of stolen valor? That’s how MAGA vets operate now?

Nope, I am saying they won't pile on. In what world do you think MAGAs would come defend Trump's opponent who served in the Minnesota Guard and has had detractors of his retirement well before he ran for governor. That would be bizarre but I bet you can find a few. The folks that support the former president aren't as pathetic as you guys would think they are.

Minneapolis NBC station is making a story with a timeline of the deployment of the National Guard. I’ll post a link when they have it online.

To summarize there is some legitimate blame to Walz and he could’ve acted faster. A big mistake by Walz was that he waited for Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey to take the lead and initially wanted to support the Frey. Frey by nearly all accounts did a poor job.

Speaking personally I agree that there is some room to critical but I put a lot more responsibility on Frey. I still think it was a strategic mistake to have abandoned the Third Precinct. Walz probably should’ve realized that Frey was not handling things well and stepped in sooner.

that would require them to have some shame and self-respect…they’re just as pathetic as people think they are if they sit idly by while their fellow vet gets falsely attacked, but lack of principles is common amongst u MAGA types which is why y’all support Cadet Bone Spurs and don’t care about his disparagement of people like McCain and other veterans

Just curious, has Walz ever publicly acknowledged that some aspects of their response to the riots could've been handled better and that they learned lessons along the way (or something to that effect)?

Haha, sit idly by. What you want the MFs to do? Send a letter to the editor, or talk to manager of ABC?

as if that’s the only way to speak up…your own VP is currently falsely accusing Walz of stolen valor, but it’s crickets from MAGAts because y’all have no shame

He’s made the “mistakes were made” type statements but has generally stood by his actions.

While I do think this is a legitimate criticism of Walz he certainly didn’t let Minneapolis burn down. When the guard did respond they responded forcefully and there was criticism that it was too heavy handed. Also in th case of other incidences such as following the Wright shooting in the northern suburbs and the trial of Derek Chauvin the guard was deployed early.

Who should they choose to believe? There are credible people saying that he said he retired as a Sargeant Major. The campaign changed his bio. I am sure you know plenty of soldiers who frown upon exaggerating their service. I don't get your outrage.

This goes to something that I frequently notice regarding the current Rightwing. There is a lot of substantive criticism of the Democrats that can be made but we see the Right jumping to and becoming obsessed with ludicrous attacks.

This thread is a perfect example where on the first page there were attacks that the Democrats had gone all in on Hamas and that Walz was a pro Hamas socialist candidate. Trump’s first official statement was that Walz would “UNLEASH HELL ON EARTH!” And on another site a Minnesotan Trump supporter even said that Minnesota was already HELL!

This type of over the top exaggeration both breeds fear mongering among many but cynicism among others. Both are corrosive to social trust and a big reason why we have so much toxicity among our politics.

What most don't understand is not all military personnel are trained to fight..

But all military personnel are essential in one way or another... For Vance or Waltz to call each other out is just flat out wrong...

I may take playful jabs at my military family.. but that's what it is, playful jabs... I would never put my brotha down or abandon him. The same goes with my fraternity bros...

I may not agree with their actions at times but I'm there for them.
