I'm sure they worked out together, I think during the summer league and if not certainly during the Team USA times. There may not be any film this time and the poster decided to pass of old footage as new. There was a poster who still had old footage up a day ago, but looks like they either removed it or reposted theirs too. Once one person posted it as new everyone ran with it.
Chris Bosh was very athletic and had tons of post moves. Jabari is still physically weak and that negatively ripple effects into his toughness, shot clarity selection, driving, post ups.. until he fixes that he won't be flimsy and inconsistent.
Bari radically improved in virtually metric and is only 21. I swear, fans nowadays are so quick to throw out dumb words like “scrub” and “bust.” Bari is younger than many NBA legends were when they joined the league.
I'm just happy he developed into a positive impact player last season. That was a huge step for him. I had my doubts after that horrible rookie season, but he stepped up last season. 1st Season Net Rating: -11 2nd Season Net Rating: +3 He was essentially our 4th best young guy in terms of net rating behind Sengun, Amen, and Tari last season.
Bosh was more fluid and had more wiggle to his game. I think it's a bad comp for Jabari who projects as more of the middle point between Chris Bosh/Rashard Lewis and Lamarcus Aldridge. Of the players we've drafted, Jabari came in the most entitled. He's needed humbling and hopefully he's gotten that. 3rd year is coming up and he improved from Year 1 to Year 2. Let's see if he makes the 3rd year leap because if he does the Rockets will be a Top 4 team.
Yes, on BOTH ENDS!! There was a lot there that I've been saying for awhile. He is the ONLY Rockets player who has shown to be productive on both ends.....true All - Star!
Maybe Bleacher Report also has Amen turning into LeBron and Green turn into Wade next year. I mean it's Bleacher Report, I wouldn't be surprised if someone wrote something like that somewhere on that website.
If he develops himself into a Robert Horry type player I believe he's a major W as a 3rd overall pick. Feel like he has more potential than that (maybe not as clutch as Big Shot) but he's got the length, athleticism, and shot making to become this team's version of our stretch 3/4/5 wing-big.
I do feel like we kind of know who Jabari is at this point. He's going to be a decent spot up shot maker and he has some ability to shoot off the dribble on hard closeouts, but he will never be a reliable creator really for himself or others but attacking the weak side while the defense is keying on better players and making the simple/smart play - yeah, he can do that well....and defensively he is going to be solid guarding 4 positions. Jabari may get a few All Star nods if his team is consistently competing for titles with him playing top level defense and knocking down shots but I don't think he is a superstar type player...but can he be a really good role player on a winning team? Absolutely! You want a guy like him on your team because while he isn't great at any one thing, he also isn't exceptionally bad at any one thing either so he has a high floor. He's just a guy who is good enough at enough things that he can take advantage of teams focusing on better players - and that will earn him some money and accolades even though you can't build a team around him. He's just one of those players who context really matters - take Klay Thompson, he probably isn't an all star if he played his career on the Kings but on a team with an all time great HOFer/best shooter of all time(Curry), an all time great defensive player(Draymond), and an aging veteran All Star(Iggy) - it allowed Klay to be a guy who could be very solid and take advantage of opportunities when they were present. His 5 All Star nods were directly related to him being on one of the greatest teams of all time....but as a player, the quick release was about the only elite skill he had but his floor was high so you were always better with him on the floor.
Long winded as it was I appreciate your opinion. I think the jury is still out. Only thing I agree with you on is that he’ll never be a playmaker. So what?
From glimpses, flashes, and scouting reports it seems he can be an elite 3&D rebounding specialist. I would be very happy with that. Any creating for himself or others would be an added bonus. Amen, Tari and Bari being on the floor at the same time might cause havoc for other teams defensively if they get it together.
